I’d say that it is more the fault of the NRA’s campaign to sell guns to every man, woman and child in the name of Liberty and the NRA’s unrelenting racial scare strategy that had a father give a troubled 19 year old a 1911 Colt. Yah, that’s where I’d lay the bulk of the blame for this terrorist’s murders.

I wonder if Mr Cotton would have argued that the O.K. Coral could have been prevented if the Earps had just issued more guns to all the citizens instead of trying to collect them from the cowboys as they entered town?
An ‘armed society’ is not a polite society. It just gives any argument an escalation path that would not be there otherwise.

He still could have voted for Concealed Carry, had a gun and been killed. These arguments that if only a good guy with a gun… are sick. The NRA wants us to be so scared of each other that the only way we will feel safe is carrying multiple guns

I really expected someone from the NRA to say something just like this, but when you see it or hear it, it just blows your mind. That is why nothing is going to change in this country. The fucking fix is in as long as we keeo electing cowards to represent us.

Think this through. The preacher is leading in prayer. Do you really think he ought to also have one eye open and have his hand on a loaded gun “just in case”? Who would want to be in that prayer group? And that’s just for starters. Not a good church marketing plan. What is this NRA nut thinking?

It’s incredible to think that to these people guns are so important to our modern society that the occasional massacre is acceptable collateral damage, and something to expect and be prepared for.

Once again, having no knowledge of the specific movements of the killer or whether others would have been in harm’s way had worshipers been packing, the NRA leaps into the breach and proclaims with certainty the evils of a gun-free society.
And yet the US ranks 4th among developed/developing countries in homicides per 100,000 people. Gun ownership is rare in most that rank lower.
