Discussion for article #226848
Logic isn’t the forte of the NRA.
The Tea Party is a grass roots organization backed by the Koch Bros. What’s the difference?
He points readers instead to gun rights activist Julie Globb
…then accidentally shoots her.
“She shouldn’t have made that jerky move!”
I hope the NRA clearly identified Kopel as being affiliated with the Independence Institute, a “libertarian” policy shop with ties to ALEC.
The level of stupidity in some of my fellow human beings makes me want to laugh, and cry, and slap someone all at the same time. You speak for me Shannon Watts and a lot more moms and dads and non-moms and non-dads than Dave Kopel would have his readership believe. In fact, you speak for the over 70% of us in this country who want sensible gun control measures enacted.
For those who actually read First Freedom magazine, close enuff is good enuff.
So is the phrase "Nuthin’ sez luvin’ like marryin’ yer cuzzin’ "
Further proof of just how low you have to flunk the IQ test to be a winger. Also proof that there are indeed two species of hairless biped on the planet: Homo Sapiens (us) and Homo Sap (them).
I figure Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense concerns the NRA. Otherwise why the scornful character assassination of Shannon Watts “who only speaks for a relatively small group of highly gullible people, including some mothers”?
Look for those words to appear soon on the “Letters to the Editor” page of your local newspapers, and in internet blogs, reader posts, and social media sites across this fine internet of ours.
I thought gun control was being able to hit your target.
Although she supports 2nd Amendment rights, Watts wants to have a prohibition on assault weapons, (her definition would be guns that can fire 10 rounds per minute). That’s why the NRA is attacking her.
Sorry, can’t take anything that rag says seriously when the title of the publication can’t discern the difference between 1 and 2 (1st freedom is 2nd amendment).
I had that shit down before kindergarten. NRA fail.
B.S.
If she set it at 1000 rounds per minute, they would oppose it on slippery-slope grounds.
So Watts is a works-from-home mom, not a stay-at-home mom?
That’s a compelling argument that completely turns around my thinking on gun control.
Not to distract from the main point of the article, but is there really not a better picture of Ms Watts available? This looks like something the NRA supporting rag would post.
It’s not the number of rounds, it’s the fact that she wants a form of gun control.
Well, that was my point. Looks like we are writing past each other, not disagreeing.
