Discussion: NRA Announces Retired Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North As Its Next President

…who better to run the NRA than an experienced international gun-runner?

That, and someone with the hands on know how to smuggle sensitive documents out of the office in his shorts.

Aaaah yes, a nice thank you to a convicted felon from the NRA’s manufacturer and retailer overlords for helping sell $30M in arms in the Iran-Contra fiasco.

Is Olly North even allowed to possess a firearm?
brings star power at a time when gun-control advocates seek to seize on momentum against the gun lobby in the wake of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history and one of the deadliest school shootings.
Because folks at the center of 30 year old scandals are all the rage with kids today. I’m sure North has a ton of cross over appeal for folks that aren’t already NRA diehards. He is really going to expand their scope of outreach to the Millennial and Gen Z sets.

Just love how lazily the AP stories are written.

Who says he brings star power? Who says he’s a star? Because he has a cable teevee show that no one watches?

He’s not a D-list celebrity, he’s an F-list nobody.

Right!? I rolled my eyes so hard at that line I think I sprained something.

Yeow, this just makes me shake my head around and try to snap it off.
Trump will probably dump pence on the rerun and just fall in love with ollie ollie ollie for a running mate. lol
I wonder why nobody ever just blew this creep up after his republican fueled disaster dealing with the contras.
A reagon favor I guess

Not only was he convicted - he was also sprung on one o’ them “technicalities”.

Indeed.

North is among the reasons Congress is more reticent to hand out immunity to witnesses than at the time.

I’m sure Mrs. North has a few guns.
She and Mrs. Liddy may even hit the range together, now and again.

UGH. Another criminal on “welfare.”

There are two types of people who serve this administration: convicted felons and aspiring ones.

That image needs to be circulated widely. Used as the lede for every article mentioning his “new appointment”…

People need to be reminded of the level of scumbggery re-entering the political arena (and make no mistake, the NRA is 100% political).

Might as well pardon Charles Manson and appoint him to head the NRA… ffs…

Let us not forget the ones who have already graduated from mere aspiration, but have not yet been convicted. That sums up a great number of the people in and around Trump’s orbit, Trump included.

I think when all this finally comes out, we’re going to discover that Russia and their mafiosi have already deeply infiltrated our government at many levels. Follow the money, observe the actions. The more convoluted, the more likely it can be traced back to them…

A great house-cleaning will be required to purge the oligarchs (American and Russian) from the halls of our government.
