What’s next, bullet-proof tote bags, and weaponized coffee mugs?

There has been more than one occasion when I’ve been genuinely frightened for NBC News’ Katie Tur. It’s not just that Trump whips up his violent audience into a frenzy, he also directs their anger to specific reporters who are in the venue covering his rally. It’s just a matter of time before one of those neanderthals hauls off and beats up a reporter or worse.

My favorite moment was when the one guy in Dayton rushed the stage and the tiny-handed one thought he was in danger himself. Cowered like a small dog.

So, is it related to Trump rallies or not? NPR’s response was mealy mouthed flackery and someone should have pressed them on it. Because one way it’s news and the other way it isn’t.

Michael Oreskes, NPR’s senior vice president of news, has described the
sessions as training for “dangerous or possibly hostile environments.”
…
Mostly due to Trump’s “campaign manager” and his propensity for thuggish behavior.

I know this is off-topic, but I cannot seem to get the comments to display on IE11. It is working on my iPad, but my laptop just displays a blank page.

I am sure this is just the upgrade. I have written the site, but no answer as yet.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

If you’ll take advice from an IT-type?
I’d begin moving away from IE in any version.
Microsoft has eliminated it from Win10.

I’ve been using Chrome personally/professionally for several years–
and only have some occasional misgivings.

Of course, I will take advice from an IT type, sort of being one myself (ERP consultant). It is a corporate computer this is happening on and I would love to do Chrome, as I have on my personal laptop, but I don’t have admin privileges to change the browser.

I am working on my iPad now, just upgraded to the new release, and the same thing is happening there intermittently.

The new comments are just a little unstable.

@becca656
Don’t know if you’ll be allowed to do so without admin rights-- but this might work for you:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

In Chrome I’m using an ‘Incognito Window’-- to avert some of the bugginess.

Firefox seems to be handling it ok also —

I have used FF too, on another machine, but it is just odd that the comments system worked on this corporate laptop as recently as yesterday.

I hope they will be able to resolve this. Hate the idea of missing the conversation.
