Discussion: Now Marco Rubio Will Skip The Republican Convention

Trump: Marco is still very very little.

If only Marco could skip being seen with Marco.

The problem for Rubio is, that no matter where he goes, he turns around and there’s the same gutless flip flopping fish he 's trying to get away from and it looks exactly like him.

Hey Floridians, this Marco Rubio guy is a zero, how about doing your nation a solid and cut him loose.

Darn. I was so looking forward to hearing his son-of-a-bartender speech again.

Beware hubris!

Dear Floridians, please don’t get fooled again.

The lure of both Erich and a Don Jr. speeches was very tempting…

Maybe we all could save some time, if TPM just would list those planning to come to the Convention ?
( It will be over in 2 weeks, praise the FSM)

Do not care!

Oh but wait, how in the world can he take the crown away from trumpet, if he’s not there to do it?

Well done!

I am still waiting to see what Paul Ryan comes up with as an excuse to avoid attending the convention. Offering to bow out and let Trump choose his own Chair didn’t work.

Come November, I hope he is trounced in such a way that we never hear from this opportunistic ass again.

Melanjia, daughters and daughters-in-law who also be speaking are out shopping at this very moment for new convention togs and a few yards of new hair.

@misha Until they pry his cold dead hands off his Twitter device, we’ll always have donaldo.

Whats the deal with flip-flopping Little Marco? He seems to change his mind as often as he changes his his underwear.

He could put out a casting call for folks to fill up the empty seats.

This marks a reversal for Rubio, who said in May that he would speak at the Republican convention if asked.

He wasn’t asked.

You mean Awkwafina?

This is interesting. He’s 45. Extremely young for such a prominent public figure. Even if he couldn’t win this year, he was definitely going to run again. So, if being associated with Trump would be so harmful, why would he ever go?

But now he’s running for Senate so he can’t?

I wonder if the problem isn’t being associated with Trump specifically, but the convention itself. It is a massive wild card and no one knows what is going to happen. With the reports of strained (if not combative) relationship between the RNC and the Trump Camp, I’m guessing no one knows what the hell is going on, and the Trump camp probably isn’t telling anyone.

I wouldn’t be so worried with what Trump will say. It is by no means a sure thing he’ll give a scripted speech, but it seems most likely. But I’d be worried about all the other speakers that you can’t predict (or don’t know about). What if Mike Tyson, a convicted rapist, actually was a speaker (they’ve now said he’s not)? What if Mike Ditka gets up and says something completely bonkers? What if you have a Clint Eastwood chair situation with someone that isn’t so well loved? What about the #NeverTrump overthrow attempts? Protesters and anti-protesters? Violence (hopefully not)?

Seems the convention itself is even worse than being associated with Trump.

hey I have an idea for the drumpf convention idgits have those very same asshats blowin up ballons for drumpf draw faces on all those ballons …so drumpf wont feel sooooooo lonely when he see’s no one there…

Oh, look, little Marco skips out on another obligation. How unusual! I wonder how many committee meetings he does not plan to attend, if re-elected. Pathetic.
