Guess Donnie celebrated a little too soon. And, it’s a woman. Bwahaha
“Prior to her 11 years as solicitor general, Underwood served as a prosecutor for the Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan district attorneys, and argued cases before the Supreme Court on behalf of the Clinton administration.”
Sounds like a made-to-order nightmare for President Dollhands.
This is why we have to rely on the INSTITUTIONS to save us, not Individuals.
(and it is why Trump is constantly attacking our Institutions.)
The replacement looks great. Good to rip the bandaid off this one now. Better than October 2018.
Exposed Democrats resign.
Exposed Republicans deny…
Let us hope they keep Trump’s feet to the fire – close to the fire!
Not to say that gender makes anyone more qualified one way or the other, but I think that a woman has taken Schneiderman’s place is the best possible outcome. It may even be better than Schneiderman.
On a side note, I’m glad he immediately stepped aside. One news cycle and this episode is over. Back to business!
Since her namesake is Underwood there might be comparisons to Frank of House of Cards fame. Nonetheless she’s more than apt considering her background as solicitor general and as a clerk for Thurgood Marshall.
Men (this type of men). You are replaceable. Man comment.
Jared Kushner’s anthem:
I went home with the waitress
the way I always do
How was I to know
she was with the
Russians too?
I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this, hah!
I’m the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
between the rock
and a hard place
and I’m down on my luck
Yes I’m down on my luck
Well I’m down on my luck
I’m hiding in Honduras
I’m a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
the shit has hit the fan
All right
Send lawyers, guns and money
Huh!
Uhh!
Send lawyers, guns and money
Uhh!
Send lawyers, guns and money
Hyah!
Send lawyers, guns and money
Ooh!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Uh!
“Trumps Play Rough, Don’t They?”
TL;DR: Vanessa Trump has a thing for criminals. She started small, dating a street thug in high school, but eventually moved on to the big time, marrying a billionaire twat born into a life of RICO-style crime.
Preet Bharara, former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, is an early favorite, but he has repeatedly claimed to have no interest in going into politics, telling the New York Times Magazine late last year that the thought of calling acquaintances to raise funds “doesn’t float my boat.
Respect him for that. Perhaps one day he will make a fine US AG (where he does not have to run for office), or a Supreme Court Justice.
Trump, Trump Jr., and Conway are gloating regarding Schneiderman’s demise because it’s personal to them, but also because they don’t realize the law is bigger than any one individual. The work will continue unabated.
And so while flawed Democrats step aside, Trump, Greitens, Blankenship, and Moore proudly march on with significant Republican and evangelical support. Just a crazy, upside down world we live in. You almost have to laugh so as not to cry.
President Dollhands.
that was worth getting up this morning.
Let justice march on!
While NY is an important backstop, I think we need to remember there are a number of other states with Democratic AGs that can help with this. Between the location of various properties and the banks involved in the transactions, Mueller has potential allies in quite a few states and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already cooperating with them.
Or he was blowing smoke at the interviewer because to go on the record esp. at a time when there was no vacancy and an AG was in place would have been seen as undignified and highly improper.
“to put in place a framework for a successful summit between the two presidents.”
Right…and clearly, Step One is announcing to “Chairman Un” that the US cannot be trusted to adhere to any agreements that have become political footballs by breaching the Iran deal just to snub President Darky and tell the Muslim world to go fuck itself.
Someone made the point on another blog that Schneiderman being removed is even worse for Trump, because if Trump and his team ended up having any dirt on the AG later on in the course of the investigation they might have been able to spring it on the media in order to cast doubt on both the NY AG and, by inference somehow, the Mueller probe. But like pshah wisely said in an earlier post, “The work will continue unabated.” Schneiderman may be gone, but the law remains.
Also, I think it’s pretty funny how Trump pulled out (yeah, I know “Trump pulling out” is a horrifying image, but deal, peeps) of the Iran agreement and wiped the NY AG scandal from the news forefront, and his coterie of carrion-eaters like Kellyanne are gleeful over Schneiderman’s resignation, too stupid in their short-lived happiness to realize that any discussion of the AG’s sexual predilections automatically leads to new discussions of Trump’s own sordid sexual history, which I am sure Michael Avenatti will point out. They just can’t stop stepping on their own dicks, can they?
