which could be problematic

Ya think?

Just enough time to ensure all those compassionate landlords and bankers, the ones who were so anxious to “work with” their federally employed tenants, are able to tack on late fees.

Contrary to Trump, federal workers weren’t all Democrats before, but maybe they are now.

Yet another example of the Trump administration’s caring policies -no thought was given to how to pay workers as soon as possible. And my guess is that if Treasury workers and others necessary to keep the payroll system up and running were declared necessary workers that things could go a lot faster.
The so/called leaders of out government are such bastards next thing you know they’ll separate children from parents without documenting who goes with whom and where the children have been placed. Oh wait. They already did that.

I thought that it was “work along,” whatever the hell that means.

Not in the Cumberland Valley in PA.

This isn’t a problem. Their father can hire them to do “maintenance” on his apartment buildings at inflated rates.

A comb in your pocket, a nylon over your face, and a late night 7-11?

That’s American initiative solving the problem.

They should’ve had the system up to run on a hairpin. Like NOW and MAKE IT SO. And they run. WHY should it take nearly a WEEK to get the checks out?

Because, sad to say, no matter who is in charge, it’s still gubmint and will always be gubmint.

Bottom line: there should never have been a shut down in the first place. Victimizing and holding hundreds of thousands of people hostage over a budget disagreement between the cowardly bully of a “president” and Congress over a vanity project that the people held hostage have NO influence over is a criminal act.

This should never be allowed to happen again . . .EVER!

Secretary Ross, does not think so, they can always get a loan. besides they have been loyal to the president this long what’s another week?

Sadly, this very reasonable assumption does not take into consideration people who are capable of insisting that government should stay out of their medicare and social security benefits, with no sense of humor or irony. (I work with some of these people.)

And for all the government contractor employees who don’t work directly for the government they still get $0.00.

We’re talking about $2B in missed payroll for the 35 days. Also, the furloughed workers missed out on overtime opportunities during the shutdown, if they were non-exempt, hourly employees.

There needs to be legislation that will insure no more government shutdowns ever. Whatever the issues, let Congress and the President work it out, but the normal day-to-day functions must continue and workers must continue to get paid.

Yea, get the paycheck caught up within a couple of weeks. But how about the missed payments, interest on loans, defaults, credit hit, etc, etc, etc. That will be years at best and for many they may never recover.
