After hearing about this, there shouldn’t be a single Trump voter left in any hurricane-damaged areas (but I know that’s wishful thinking).
It’s hard not to get the impression that Trump’s “all the best” really suck at politics. Maybe they haven’t noticed but there’s an election coming up. The “detention” policy, or jailing kids policy, was horribly unpopular and that’s why it suffered the fate it did. But diverting money from essential security agencies to fund Miller’s perverted and wildly unpopular family sabotage program is politically stupid and particularly so given a major election is 2 months away. But by all means Donnie…keep it up.
So taking brown kids away from their parents is more important than this:
DNDO is the primary entity in the U.S. government for implementing domestic nuclear detection efforts for a managed and coordinated response to radiological and nuclear threats, as well as integration of federal nuclear forensics programs. Additionally, DNDO is charged with coordinating the development of the global nuclear detection and reporting architecture, with partners from federal, state, local, and international governments and the private sector.
Incredibly
Callous
Enterprise
In other words - extremely important.
How quickly you forget. Donnie has already denuclearized the whole world, so who needs DNDO?
How does one go about financing crimes against humanity? Just get Steve from SCM on the line.
It takes lot of money to do this.
Well, that’s just dandy for you Trump voters in North and South Carolina. When you can’t get back in your homes for weeks longer than you might have otherwise, when the emergency generators, food, water, and ice fail to arrive, when the Coast Guard can’t run as many patrols and your friends die in a swamped fishing boat they might have been rescued from, you can console yourselves with knowing that Central American children are being abused with your tax dollars at the behest of a maladjusted freak named Stephen Miller because Republicans can’t be bothered to win elections by doing good things and thus getting more votes. Think about that while you’re sleeping in your sister-in-law’s living room, you punks, and ask yourself who really deserves to live in this country and who doesn’t understand its principles well enough to be good Americans.
Well yeah, re-organizing ICE into stormtroopers for the Republican agenda isn’t cheap. Those Hugo Boss uniforms added up quick you know.
So, let me get this straight: Homeland Security, which was pretty much a BS organisation anyway, is having funds siphoned away from them so that ICE can detain the undocumented indefinitely? I thought that “terrorists” were our greatest threat. According to the Rethugs. Now, it appears to be the undocumented???
Yep. We should have gotten rid of it already.
It’s not just the Trump Administration that is culpable, but all the Republican members of the House and Senate Committees that secretly permitted the transfer of the funds from these agencies to ICE. Among those Republicans, there must be some who are from States now depending on FEMA to save their citizens, house their homeless and finance the rebuilding of their homes, businesses and infrastructure. If Democrats can’t successfully campaign against this secret theft, they don’t deserve to win.
Trump’s bubba’s in the incarceration business are the ultimate benefeciaries of this $170,000,000 shell game.
Quite conveniently, someone Trump benefits from somehow is getting these funds, for overpriced under-staffed and poorly managed internment facilities.
How it comes back to the Trump family is still a mystery, at least to the general public, but I’d wager the emoluments experts may have some sort of clue.
If there is some way to determine the actual dollar costs per-“prisoner” and dissect those expenditures very publicly, it might help expose this for what it really is… insider graft of the worst kind.
Trump’s paying his RICO friends with blood money.
I was never taken in during the Bush maladministration regarding “the enemy.” As soon as I heard that a whole government department that vaguely sounded like the “Fatherland” was created, I just couldn’t get on board. Orwell was spinning in his grave.
Having said that, I’m really stunned that in little less than two decades, this country has totally shifted its focus on where our greatest threat lay.
@jep07: One thing that really concern me is that the longer these “camps” are allowed to exist with their blatant civil rights abuses, the longer the situation may turn into something reminiscent of Gitmo. Five years in and no one wants to close the camps because reasons.
Especially when there’s extreme graft siphoning out the liar’s share right off the top.
Some of his most loyal cultists are probably “riding out the storm”.
That’s one consolation.
Some of them are even “standing their ground”!
AGAINST A HURRICANE!?!?
Only in the NRA U.S.A.

You can’t make this stuff up.
which is probably now in a flash-flood area …
Don’t forget the aspect that these kids and some families will have housing while those who suffer damages to their homes won’t.
That Trump will continue to play golf while they are homeless and fighting with FEMA for temporary housing.
That all these Trump tariffs will making repairing and rebuilding damaged homes more expensive.
That locking up all these undocumented workers will leave clean up and construction companies short handed.
