Discussion: Not All Republicans Are Defending Trump's Inclination To Accept Foreign Dirt

Will they be sent away?

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME),
“If a hostile government like Russia contacts a federal official or a federal candidate with an offer of assistance, to me the appropriate action to take is to call the FBI,” she told reporters Thursday.

Goddammit - every single DEMOCRAT should be screaming that McConnell won’t bring an election security bill to the floor. Why the hell not, Mitch? What POSSIBLE reason could you make up?

“Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), … has never been shy about putting a wedge between herself and the President…”

But the wedges between herself and POtuS never lead to votes.

“A mistake of law…”. Now that is a novel defense to try in court.

Lindsey Graham disagrees with Trump today. By the time the Sunday morning shows have him on, he will agree with Trump.

The interview with Graham is infuriating. He constantly pivots back to the false equivalency of the Steele report, conveniently forgetting that it was a GOP project to start with, that Steele was not a foreign agent, that large portions of the report have been corroborated, that the investigation didn’t start because of the report (and that it wouldn’t matter legally if it did), and that his boss was shown by Mueller to have eagerly welcomed Russian interference that he knew was meant to help him win and then obstructed the investigation into his treason. He is so fucking horrible.

Trump was educating George on his lawlessness the same day that Don Jr was testifying about the Russia meeting. Just puttin’ it out there. Not that they’re smart enough to have coordinated or anything.

McConnell is more of a problem then Trump simply because he is keeping a idiot in office.
Dems, please start a investigation into McConnell’s connection to China.

Any prudent women would put as many wedges as possible between herself and Donald Trump.

Mark Warner was just on the senate floor doing exactly that. Saw it on Fox news…

You’re more accepting and kinder than I am. I intended to call that quote outright BS on the part of the reporter.

Give Graham some time to come up with a better defense of Trump and his statement. After all, it’s not every day that a whopper like this comes along. (It just seems that way). This one will take some real thought to spin the Republican way. I am absolutely confident in Lindsey’s ability to go full grovel, and soon.

“a mistake”? A crime!

He meant “friendly” countries like Norway (his go-to blond fantasy place). He used Norway before when talking about shithole countries. Like anyone from Norway would choose to come here …

TALK…IS…CHEAP.

(And so are Graham and company.)

And how long will it take for all of these Republicans to go silent and crawl back in line behind Trump? How long until they are defending him as “just doing the same as the Democrat in 2016”? I give it a day, maybe two.

And I hope my Democrat colleagues will be equally offended by the fact that this actually did happen in 2016, where a foreign agent was paid for by a political party to gather opposition research.

Was it Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio’s campaign that began the Steele Dossier?

He’s going to have to go to a chiropractor first after twisting himself into the knots that were required to make this a “both sides” issue.
