Busted cheaters get a mulligan? Since when?
The Republican should lose by forfeiture.
The state elections board could decide as early as Tuesday whether possibly criminal ballot fraud was unfortunate but tolerable, or whether to order a new election in the 9th congressional district.
Is this just AP verbiage or are they that stupid to say unfortunate but tolerable? Throw the Rethug out and put the Dem in. No need to hold another election, they cheated and they donât get a redo.
The same should apply to Hillary, President Clinton.
whether possibly criminal ballot fraud was unfortunate but tolerable,
What!
The!
Fuck!
I guess Republicans arenât concerned about voting fraud after all
Oh waitâŚ

Jebus Tapdancing Christ these Republicans have to go
If they donât give a do over election, there is nothing to stop Nancy Pelosi from refusing to seat Harris. I know I would.
I would go further. If they do a do-over instead of disqualifying Harris, I would rule out seating Harris, if heâs âelected â on the second vote, until the matter has been fully and adequately investigated. Which it hasnât been.

Busted cheaters get a mulligan? Since when?
[/quote]Itâs another example of the Official IOKIYAR Rules.
I get the impulse to say the Republicans should not get another chance at the seat, but that would be illegal and a dangerous precedent.
The Repukes in NC were trying to change the state law so that Harris could be taken out in a new primary, presumably because he would not get elected in a new election. I did not hear if they were able to force it through or not. Does anyone else know if that has been settled or did it end up in the courts?
Not mentioned in the article is that the GOP legislature, seeing that major fraud had become obvious in the race, quickly passed a law which requires a primary and general vote when the board declines to certify an election.
So, Harris probably doesnât get a do-over, but the GOP, which has been hiring the illegal ballot handler for years, doesâŚ
Four of the five members on the elections board â composed of three Democrats and two Republicans â would need to agree a new election is necessary.
If that doesnât happen, McCreadyâs lawyers said state officials should send their findings to the Democrat-dominated U.S. House and let it decide whether Harris should be seated â arguing that the U.S. Constitution gives the House authority over the elections and qualifications of its members.
Itâs gettinâ so a businessman canât expect no return from a fixed fight. Now, if you canât trust a fix, what can you trust? For a good return, you gotta go bettinâ on chance - and then youâre back with anarchy, right back in the jungle.
This is easy, indict everyone involved (including Harris who hired the guy) and redo the election. Why is this being discussed in front of the election board and not a grand jury?
They passed the bill despite a veto from Governor Cooper. As far as I know, thereâs been no court interdiction.
So yes, assuming there is a redo there will also be a primary.
I assume the indictment(s) are in the works.
Why would there be a redo when Harris is the one that hired the known fraudster, Dowless, that then proceeded to change the ballots. Do we think Harris is innocent?
It is clear from Brittâs testimony that hundreds of absentee ballots were ordered by the Dowless group vs the voters in question, and that hundreds were illegally collected by the Dowless group and altered. Whatâs screamingly clear is that this affected not only the vote count for Harris and the guy running for sheriff, but every down-ballot Democrat on the ballot. They are all tainted. People who have presumably been seated as City Council members, School Board members, District Attorneys, Water Board, Fire Board, Sanitation Board, and whatever else was on that ballot have been illegitimately seated due to election fraud. What short of a do-over could possibly legitimize this election?
I havenât heard how every member of the Dowless group, from Dowless to all his peons, are going to be prosecuted for both their election tampering and the cover-up. It would be nice if they could tie Harris to these crimes, but how motivated is a dubiously elected District Attorney going to be?
This is usually the point where the state attorney general or FBI would step in, but I wouldnât hold out hope for either.
Sadly, I suspect the affected voters will have to sue (Dowless, Harris, the DA, everyone?) to get any justice.
The elections board has referred the case to the appropriate US Attorneyâs Office.
Granted, Trumpâs DOJ dropped the ball big time on this in 2017, but I doubt all the public scrutiny around this case will allow that to happen again.
