I don’t know whether I’m more freaked out by the possibility that this smart, well-educated articulate man is actually the Dominionist theocratic true believer he purports to be, or by the possibility that he’s a pathologically cynical sociopathic demagogue who’s playing his followers like a fiddle.

I don’t know why anyone is surprised about this. Every Teapublican of note has played out in the Tea Party field during the primaries and as soon as they get the nomination, they try to “…erase the Etch-A-Sketch and move toward the middle.” That was put out there by Mitt Romney’s campaign manager in 2012. Which simply proves the allegation that TeaPublicans are stupid, because, like lemmings, they will follow any old person over the cliff and never look back. Or forward for that matter.
Regarding his TEA Party supporters, Sasse commented, “Just because I f…k them, doesn’t mean I’ll marry them.”
