Discussion: Noah: After 6 Years Of Gun Control Debate, Only 'Major Change' Is To Obama's Face (VIDEO)

“We have found the amount of pressure under which black does crack.”

LOL. On the other hand, turtles rarely show their age. (Please forgive me, real turtles–some of my most favorite creatures on earth).

Obama has done everything but stand on his head to move the gun control needle in the right direction.

There have been 445 mass murders so far this year. Joe Scarborough was excoriating Obama this morning, for not being able to thwart the Muslims with the assault rifles.

He’s still the most handsome POTUS ever.

Yes I would agree.

Edit to add: Oh, I stand corrected. I thought you said most hopeless.

“Obama has done everything but stand on his head to move the gun control needle in the right direction.” Really?

WASHINGTON 11/12/15 – Congressional leaders won’t take up gun control legislation, so a handful of Democrats are turning to President Barack Obama to get something done.
Four lawmakers wrote to Obama on Thursday urging him to use his executive authority to require gun manufacturers who sell guns to the federal government to use stricter safety measures, like researching “smart guns” and working with law enforcement. Last year, the government awarded more than $130 million in federal contracts to major gun manufacturers like Glock and Smith & Wesson, both of which also sell guns to the general public.
“As the largest single domestic buyer of guns, the federal government is in a position to demand changes from gun manufacturers through the procurement process,” reads the letter from Reps. Chris Van Hollen (Md.), Adam Schiff (Calif.), Elizabeth Esty (Conn.) and Robin Kelly (Ill.).

“We should use our buying power to encourage gun manufacturers to research and create smart guns, to regulate the sales of their guns to ensure that they are only sold to reputable and authorized sellers who conduct background searches on all purchases, and encourage manufacturers to work with local law enforcement,” the lawmakers write.

A White House spokesman did not respond to a request for comment on the letter.

If a shooter with an assault weapon wearing body armor showed up at the Republican retreat this coming January, or the Republican Governors meeting this February in Las Vegas, both body armor and assault weapons would be banned within weeks. Only when Republicans lose some of their own, will we see swift action on gun control.

You know, it’s really only a matter of time when someone gets through. My husband used to work on the Hill and there was something every single day. It rarely gets reported. One day they sheltered in place because they busted some guy who had tanks of gasoline strapped to his car and was driving through the streets by the Capitol. When they pulled him over, he had what appeared to be the makings of a car bomb. He was crazy and whether it would have been successful or not is another question.

Ohio is considering a law that will allow concealed carry in daycare centers. Seriously, this is happening. They just installed metal detectors at the state house. I wrote some of the reps from my glorious home state and said if parents have to worry about guns in their child’s daycare, they should remove the metal detectors. It’s only fair. Radio silence.

Then, of course, you have Georgia which allows you to carry a gun almost anywhere…except to the State Capitol where they are prohibited…

President Barrack H. Obama: 2009-2015
162 mass murders
Incidents with 8 or more deaths = 18

On Thursday, one day after the San Bernardino massacre, every Senate Republican (except Mark Kirk of Illinois) voted against legislation to prevent people on the F.B.I.’s consolidated terrorist watch list from purchasing guns or explosives.

The measure has been introduced repeatedly since 2007.

Another bill that would have expanded background checks to gun show and online firearms sales to screen out convicted felons and the mentally ill also failed on Thursday.

The four Republican senators running for president — Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Lindsey Graham — all turned up to vote against these common-sense measures.

In the wake of the San Bernardino killings, President Obama called for legislation outlawing the sale of firearms to people on the FBI’s terrorist list or on the no-fly list. The same day every Republican but one in the US Senate voted to let terrorists and people on the no-fly list continue to buy all the assault weapons and any other kind of rifle or fire arm they choose.

Since the Paris attacks, Republicans have been trying to outdo each other in describing how they’d crack down on global terrorism. But when a massshooting at home calls attention to laws that put guns into the hands of suspected terrorists, they ask for a moment of silence over gun violence.

.
The silence goes on and on and on and on …

I notice you never comment on fob growth - the best since 2000. That used to be your main bitch with Obama - but since he;s shot you down on that front you have to go after him for not being able to get gun control passed. Yesterday only 1 republican voted to stop the sale of guns to people on the terrorist list. Why don’t you bitch and complain about the people who have are really responsible for the stalemate in this country on gun control

The silence goes on and on but he is still the best President we have had since FDR and certainly the handsomest since JFK. And the President with the highest integrity of any President since Jimmy Carter and not one scandal.

Integrity you say?

The man has none - he hired the same hacks that were responsible for the Great Recession…

And the man’s a coward. Let me know when he goes after the gun manufacturers. 40% of their revenue comes from sales to the federal government.

I didn’t know we elected a King. Place the blame where it belongs. Congress makes the laws. The President has plenty of integrity but of course you don’t have a clue what integrity is so I am not surprised you don’t recognize it when you see it.

LOL! You’ve got to do better.

There wasn’t any growth in 2000!

The statistics used were for the previous years between 1990 and 2000, But I realize you’ve got nothing so try to find something to use to your benefit all to no avail You know I’m right - you just can’t handle being wrong on the job growth issue which used to be your main bitch; so now you have to find a new one, and quite frankly, going after Obama on the lack of gun control legislation is the weakest argument ever, No other President has tackled this issue like he has

At this point, Darcy you have become nothing but a pathetic troll trying to stir the pot. How pathetic of you

Legitimate questions looking for legitimate answers.

Edit to add: I forgot this from the Tax Foundation 2014::

Since 2000, GDP growth in the U.S. has been persistently low, averaging about 2 percent. This is much lower than the economic growth we saw in the past.

Between 1970 and 2000, GDP growth averaged above 3 percent. In fact, in multiple years throughout 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, the economy grew at rates above 4 percent.

The recent trend toward slower growth in the U.S. is troubling, but its a trend that better economic policy can reverse.

You got nothin’!

Considering the country went through a recession starting in 2007 and a crash in 2008 this is the best growth after such an event. What you are ignoring here is the actual job growth after hemorrhaging 750,000 jobs a month. You’ve got nothing and that is why you are going back to finding statistics that don’t have any meaning with respect to the last 7 years

“Considering the country went through a recession starting in 2007 and a crash in 2008 this is the best growth after such an event.”

Maybe we’re using two different comparisons. Obama stopped the bleeding no doubt but GDP growth has barely stayed above 2% these past seven years making it the slowest recovery since the GD. And in the past three years it’s gone from 3% to 2.5%, to 2%.

The issue is your Mr. Wonderful could be handing the presidency over to the Republicans if the economy doesn’t improve in the next ten months.
