" I’m not going for the same reason that I will not knowingly put a spoonful of shit into my mouth " —
the end —
I’m not going because I want to avoid crowds and the potential for rioting, false flag or otherwise. Also, saw Olympus has Fallen the other day and it didn’t work out well for many of the tourists in front of the White House.
Grijalva’s statement really resonates with me. I’ve followed politics since I was a kid and have always watched the inauguration, but not this time. I just can’t imagine not becoming ill when Donald Trump takes the oath of office, nor can I bear to see the Obama and Trump families both presented as first families of our democracy.
with the pretenders 37% approval rating even the cowardly politicians who calculate every action should realize there is nothing but an upside to standing with Mr. Lewis.
No…really… how bad could it possibly be ? …
I will not attend or watch on TV. Trump still finds his validation in crowds and ratings, and depriving him of those will hurt him to the core.
For fellow progressive Texans, however, there are satellite Women’s Marches in Austin and Houston on Jan. 21st.
O this is good:
He may be President, but to maintain our dignity, there’s no choice but to conscientiously object to his thoughts and actions.
As President-elect, it’s his responsibility to at least attempt to bring the country together. Somehow, I doubt he’s up to the challenge.
This will come back to haunt those who do go. Trump enablers will have to rationalize their behavior just as those who supported our folly in Iraq do now.
I wish Celine Dion would sing …
I just LOVE her —
( she has a great song about a " sinking ship " )
He’s basically a carnival barker. “Sales” is pretty much all he knows.
And petty vindictiveness. He knows that.
heh heh heh
I think so … and WELCOME ! —
He knows petty vindictiveness better than anything else.
Hoping the Lord rains on his inauguration as his heavenly sign of repulsion!
I’ve put on a new avatar in response to inauguration.
Also, as I’ve noted before, I will be watching the first episode of The West Wing on Netflix on inauguration day. America can be better than it is.
See this article about the image below and the campaign(s) that Shepard Fairey (of HOPE poster fame) and others at Amplifier Foundation will be using to promote a better America. Also see their Kickstarter project – goal was $60k and they have over $837k pledged with 3 days to go.
Edit: Credit to Digby’s Hullabaloo for bringing the work to my attention
That is so cool. That’s for sharing the larger image!
That’s gorgeous. I love it.
What!?! I thought that Gordon Lightfoot sang “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”
