Other than the financial meltdown, W managed a good economy.
Other than Katrina, W was responsive to natural disasters.

Jeb! gets the same pass here as GWB’s wife and GWB’s daughters if they so choose (Not awfully sure young Barb would go for it, tho.) - but, that’s it: anyone else who wants to say it has to include some clear indicator of comedy or at least irony. Like this:

If John Ellis Bush! Bush wins the nomination and pulls this line out in a debate - or even in a commercial - he’s gonna be toast.

By Jeb’s logic, Obama kept us safer. Not one major terrorist attack under Obama, and O got Bin Laden and other high terrorist targets. Obama also ended 2 wars, which were not too damn safe for 3000+ American dead and wounded.

The others piled on with comments about how President Obama has made us LESS safe! What is with these willfully ignorant hateful ass-holes? And NEVER a challenge!!! Trump really should have jumped on that with both feet but it might have hurt him with his base. They don’t like to be confronted with truths and Trump is savvy enough to know that.

He’s doing everything he can to burnish his brother’s thoroughly tarnished legacy so it doesn’t reflect badly on him. Just wish someone would be bold enough to challenge him on this. not just repeatedly ask the question but simply state that Iraq was an abject failure.

Hey Jeb, who was president on 9/11?;
Hey Jeb, who ignored “Bin Laden determined to strike in the US?”;
Hey Jeb, who said “Heckuva Job, Brownie,” while New Orleanians were drowning?
Hey Jeb, who expected US troops to “be greeted as liberators?”**
God, the level of banality and outright stupidity last night was astounding.

My jaw dropped when Jeb said that.
I know that millions have been conditioned to believe that because he was
“only” 8 months into his term, Bush should get a pass on 9/11.
But anyone who has read Richard A. Clarke’s Against All Enemies
knows that this attack was not out of the blue.
Would Gore have prevented 9/11? No one knows…
but he probably wouldn’t have been given a pass if it happened on his watch.
The next thing that crept into my mind was that–at Ground Zero–Bush insisted that:
“…the people who destroyed these buildings will hear all of us soon!”
Yes, many people found that inspiring in Sept. 2001.
But none of us knew then what we know now:
That by “soon” Bush meant NOT in the next 7+ years he’d remain in power.
And that Bush would later say of bin Laden:
“I don’t know where he is. I really just don’t spend that much
time on him, to be honest with you.” (3/13/02…just 6 months after the devastation)
Can you imagine if Hillary or Gore said such a thing?!?

And how everyone forgets that Obama DIDN’T say that, but went out there and got him.
For which POTUS gets absolutely no credit. He just isn’t doing anything worthwhile to keep us safe (I actually had someone say that to me the other day).

Apparently, you never got the memo from the GOP - the one that declares that the GWB presidency didn’t start until September 12, 2001, or immediately after the reading of “My Pet Goat.”
And in case anyone was wondering, his presidency ended the day right before the Great Recession started.
So, he both kept us safe and left us with a booming economy.
That’s their story, and they’re gonna stick with it.
