Discussion: No Charges For 2 Minneapolis Officers In High-Profile Fatal Shooting

Well, at least now Hennepin County can pursue the bereaved family for the cost of the ammunition without the damned legal department always whining about waiting for final disposition of the grand jury process.

What did you expect?
Without high-res video of an officer shooting an unarmed person on the ground with their hands behind their back NO County attorney is going to drag any police (who they NEED to suck up to to do their jobs) into court.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said his decision to not charge Officer Mark Ringgenberg and Officer Dustin Schwarze for their roles in the death of 24-year-old Jamar Clark was based on evidence that showed Clark was not handcuffed at the time, attempted to gain control of an officer’s weapon and the officers believed they were in danger of being shot.

There’s film right?

Release the video, or assumptions will be there’s something to hide.

It’s likely that the officers reacted exactly as they should, but we need to see the report before we can assume anything, but the safe assumption that we can walk away with here is that the report will exonerate the cops with or without a video which would absolutely back up the accounts given by the officers, but let’s not jump to any conclusions until we see the report, which will prove my point beyond a doubt.

It’s going to get real interesting when the gun that looks like an iPhone is widely sold and owned. Cops will be able to legitimately claim “Yeah, now we know he was only holding his phone, but we couldn’t be sure it wasn’t a gun when he was holding it forth in his hands.”

Yeah, they won’t release it. Funny.

Yup, hence the need for special prosecutors in cases involving cops.

Just amazing how quick cops are to shoot a black guy. Hell white guys can shoot at cops and they just try and talk the gun out of his hand.

“Schwarze’s race has not been released.”

Seriously? Are they really trying to pretend he’s black just because that’s what his last name means?

That’s about the size of it, and it does appear it will be released. Clark’s DNA was found on the cops gun, mace canister and holster, but I’d still want to see if he was cuffed behind his back since the DNA could be from rolling around on the ground with the cop.
