So, the National Guard can provide humanitarian aid, but private individuals get arrested for providing food and water?
Dolt 45 will be going after her on the Twitter machine soon. And the governor being a woman will really tick him off.
I like her. I watched her campaign and she’s got loads of guts. A 12th generation New Mexican.
National Guard is under the state with the governor in command. Those charges were brought by the feds. There’s no equivalency there, legally. Optics still had in the Fed action. Feds only have control over the NG if called up by the Pentagon. Actual state’s rights.
Damn straight, a charade. Good on her!
Donnie’s response…
He’s up against another really tough woman. Michelle is tough.
That makes her an Old New Mexican.
That makes her a Lujan. The Lujans are one of the most important Native American families in New Mexico.
She’s probably descended from Tony Lujan, who married Mabel Dodge but I don’t know that - the family is large.
Did you see this? Hilarious.
Nope. The President has the power to federalize any state’s national guard. That’s what Ike did in 1957 when he federalized the Arkansas guard that had been ordered to keep black kids out of Central High in Little Rock. He sent them to barracks, and sent troops from the 101st Airborne Division to protect the children and escort them into the school. Made for great television.
