Maybe if they call it a “church” instead of a mosque they will allow it…lol
As I read the story yesterday it struck me that a comparison picture of the average new home in the area would have been handy to see if some of the towns arguments held any water. My personal take is it another case of bigots stating NIMBY…
My personal experience having lived across the street from a Mosque for years is that they make very good neighbors. The Mosque always had traditional ethnic and their own take on common “American” foods during the neighborhood block parties. They always seemed to have a hand out to others. They even opened the Mosque to Catholics for Sunday services for a few months after a fire damaged the Catholic Church. In fact they shared the parking lot with the Catholic Church. The only time I experienced any issue was once Friday afternoon when it seemed every cop car and fire engine in the city arrived to put out a fire at the Mosque. Afterwords we learnt that some yahoo from 50 miles away thought it would be a smart idea to firebomb the place while Friday prayers took place. In the aftermath the Catholic Church opened their doors for prayer services while the Mosque was being repaired. Nice neighbors all around.
Good. Lawsuit legalese is a universal language that lawyers love to translate…
