Are you sure that’s not Zimmerman?

No one got shot, so no.

Are we sure he’s not a Republican? I ask because it sounded an awful lot like something a Republican would do.

Alas, not all assholes are Republican.

Just most.

In the words of George Costanza, “Was that wrong?”

Yet more proof that politics is hard.

Hey, it’s not like he used the N-word on his Twitter account…

I was ready to post something like: “Another tea party darling behaving badly.” Imagine my surprise. No, republicans don’t have a monopoly on bad behavior, they’re just more practiced.

What part of the country did this happen in again?

Wonder if the Republicans will forgive a repenting sinner who is a
Democrat the way they forgive those who are GOP?

What he did was inexcusable, but it sounds as though he has
changed.

I think we may all have done things we aren’t proud of when we
were kids, not that that makes it okay. He should still be very
ashamed.

Well then, why did he drop out??? You either are a better person and your Democratic counterparts ought to understand that, or you’re not. Republicans get around this problem by finding God. Democrats need some sort of equivalent. Like, “I did this, I learned my lesson, here’s how I can prove it, and I know you’ll support me.” At which point, we should. Support the candidate.
Maybe there’s more here, or the guy is still an idiot. But if not, forcing/condoning him dropping out is just weenie.

Wait a second. Just what part of what he did disqualifies him for public office in New Jersey?

"I regret what happened, and I have worked every single day to prove that I am not the man that the report says."

That’s ok. Just keep being you and we’ll keep voting racist door knobs out of Public office.

"sounds as though he has changed"

I might leave that judgement up to a psychiatrist. Anybody willing to pull their pants down and yell epithets through restaurant windows sounds pathological.

Sat thinking about this for a few.
Guy seems remorseful. Seems to have some good intentions in his life.
But I couldn’t scrounge up one reasonable idea for why it happened as it did.

Other than: Jersey.

Once I had a dog who, as a puppy, damaged a door. I forgave him but the door was still damaged. This is what Sorrentino is dealing with. When someone run for office their past is put under a microscope.
