“Would there be a downside for the President to act unilaterally on that question or, for example, birthright citizenship? Would you be willing to draft an executive order eliminating birthright citizenship?”

Isn’t that going to hurt some of his business interests that have big business in birth-tourism (or whatever it is called) ? If I recall correctly - some Florida properties that have robust business with Russian couples coming to rent in time to have their child in the U.S.

There should be a downside, but at last check, this is America.

Trolling their base, by othering non-white citizens.

“I think, Tucker, I think the President has been clear: all of that is on the table,”

He won’t do anything about it just as he’s done nothing on anything, but it’s all on the table so he can keep talking about doing something.

What an interesting idea Tucker. What would you propose? Would each newborn have to take a test? Would the government just test their DNA for ‘right’ haplogroup? Or should we just kick out all of our people that can’t trace their genealogical line to their first British citizen that came to the New World?

Not sure it’s so much the Constitution as the whole ‘rule of law’ thing.

Since Trump’s father, by Trump’s admission, was born in Germany, would that make Trump not an American citizen if birthright citizenship was removed?

“Court cases have upheld it for centuries, and Trump’s attempt to end it by presidential dictum would end up challenged in court before he finished his sentence.”

Please. Trump has never finished a sentence.

To be fair, it’s “First the conviction, then the incarceration…”
