Sure, looks may get you in the door, but I seriously doubt someone is going to voite for someone pretty if they start spouting stupid shit.And he not only stated how Kuster had a disadvantage, he followed up with stories of how she looks like a drag queen and is “ugly as sin”.
This guy should be ashamed of himself, particularly since I doubt he’d be a front runner in a handsome contest. But by all means I hope he keeps digging. Hell, I’ll hand him the shovel.

So what’s the explanation for this ass-ugly bastard’s electoral successes? The pervasive stupidity in these sorts of politicians and the voters that elect them is stunningly depressing. Sometimes I truly despair for the future of our nation.
Before he died, Gore Vidal said, when asked in an interview, that he believed that the United States would someday, sooner rather than later, have an authoritarian, fascist government. Looking at the Teabaggers, the Republicans, Fox News, and the various utterances of these sorts of politicians from across the nation (both national and local), I’ve come to believe Vidal was correct.
That this sort of moron can make such statements without fear of re-election, says a lot about American voters; none of it good.

It’s like that Fox commentator yesterday. The point isn’t whether or not there’s such an effect. The point is that this guy talked about the one candidate in an unbelievably obnoxious, churlish, hateful way. Civilized adults never talk that way in public and usually make an effort not to in private either. Of course, as noted yesterday, this guy’s only real claim to fame is lacking the filter that keeps most of us from saying flagrantly regrettable stuff.
