The first woman of the 65 to sign the letter of support was Brit Hume’s daughter, so it was immediately clear this wasn’t just an organic process. BTW, I haven’t heard Brit disclose this on Faux as he defends Kavanaugh.
Yeah, that “buying tickets for friends” to the tune of 200K just makes ZERO SENSE! Then poof! The debt is gone? It sounds like a lie right out of the gate, and the kooky explanations certainly don’t help. Who DOES that?
Hmmm. I wonder if the FBI knows any DC bookies they might question. Too bad Mitch McConnell says the investigation is closed.
I think Blasey Ford said it was about a week before her name was first revealed. And presumably while Whelan was plotting his marathonic Tweet stream, which he totally did by himself. And did not coordinate with the White House. Or the Senate Judiciary Committee GOP members. Or Kavanaugh. Totally did not.
Boy, that Kavanaugh/GOP “high school calendar” gambit bit the big one rather quickly, didn’t it?
The last time I saw something burn up that fast was a vampire that forgot about Daylight Savings Time.
$200K to spend on his friends. LOL! Yeah, right. That’s about as financially responsible as the $37K in overdraft fees on Rep. Duncan Hunter’s checking account.
I was thinking the same thing. Mayer and Farrow are showing them how good reporting is done. And I have earlier canceled my own NYT subscription and gone with the WaPo which I like way better.
There are no doubt still good journalists and editorialists on the Times but overall they are way too unreliable. I start feeling my blood pressure rise when I begin to even get a hint of them carrying water for the GOP again. Get rid of the NYT and find inner peace!
They were all rich and stupid. CNN couldn’t see the pattern here?
For what it’s worth, at least they have the courage of their convictions.
A majority of the Republicans currently on the Senate Judiciary Committee (6 of 11) VOTED AGAINST reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act in 2013, which passed the Senate 78-22.
How could you cancel your subscription to the NYT? How can you live without the breathless, unbiased reporting of The Heaving Magpie?!
Sounds like a fourth woman.

From the linked article:
This would potentially bring the number to four women accusing Kavanaugh of wrongdoing and comes after Deborah Ramirez, a former Yale college student, stepped forward this weekend to accuse Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her in college, and after attorney Michael Avenatti tweeted out a message saying he represents a woman with “credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge.”
All this hullabaloo may finally scare Chuck Grassley into having a bowel movement, seeing that he’s been constipated since The Battle Of San Juan Hill.
It’s difficult but I manage. (And if I am honest I will admit that even though I did cancel months ago they never managed to cut me off and do I have full access. But I only read it on rare occasions.)
Then there are the gang rapes…
In the fun of this, we do need to watch our facts ( I have had too cups of coffee, which makes me nitpicky, LOL):
Declared total debt was in range of $60-200K - queer category for the financial form , and YES, still really strange thing to do but $200 may be hyperbole. FWIW, what is also interesting is that he didn’t seem to get permits for any of his extensive expensive house renovations.
FYI, It happened in the hours between the WaPo notifying WH of upcoming release of her name, and the naming-the-accuser article being released to the public.
Jeez, just too much information, too fast! More coffee!!! KAVA-NO, JAVA-YES!
Sounds like Kavanaugh was a problem drinker in his youth - and the kind of guy who did stupid things around young women when he was drunk. We have heard about high school and freshman year at Yale - how bad was he in his soph-junior-senior years? Was this common behavior for rich Ivy League kids in the 80s? Were they drunk on alcohol and conservatism-reaganism too?
My issue with the paper has been almost exclusively about their political reporting division. I’m not saying their reports are always, without exception, bad. But after following their reporting for a long time it’s hard not to notice there is a concerning pattern with their political reporting.
It’s otherwise a fine paper. It’s a shame.
That’s exactly the problem. Their reporting is definitely not always bad. A lot of it is quite good in fact. But their “mistakes” almost always tend in the same direction and have had catastrophic consequences.
Just imagine how Trump is going to handle this. “The fake news shopped the story until they found a “victim.” The fake news needs to be stopped. We need Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court to redo the liable laws.”
Yup, and this undercutsnthe narrative she is a democratic operative. Both ford and now rameriez were outed, they did not offer up their stories. Adds a lot to her credibility.
Not sure if not putting this detail into the original story was by design, but it certainly set a trap from the Graham and Conways of the world to claim she was doing this for an agenda, making it up.
