Trump: I love this bill. This destroys all of the blue states. Nothing like it. It will destroy NYC and I will be the richest one there.

Mitch is definitely spending the week rallying his Senators to support Trumpcare 3.0. He ditched the Alexander-Murray ACA fix bill in order to get the attention of his caucus. This is real.

My O-Care repeal meter is at 45%, down from 50% yesterday. I think this bill has real problems in the House, and the lack of a CBO score will cause some in the Senate to stay on the fence. The other thing going against it is the proximity to the 2018 election cycle. The political price is much clearer, as is evident by some of the early House retirements and Senate polls. That said, the GOP donor base is demanding something on O-Care, and the GOP always focused on base turnout first. As long as the GOP is in power, O-Care will always be under threat. We have to work hard in a media environment that underreporting this issue.

Oh please…Ol’ Pete will cave in a NY second…I do wonder however what all these nimrods are going to tell their constituents when they no longer have health care…or roads or hospitals or…how on earth can they explain that they keep taking away services while the 1% grows richer and then sanctimoniously opine that ‘we can’t afford it’.

And even if the kill bill fails, it has the effect of further destabilizing the insurance markets. And that is another blow for ACA. ACA needs stability and a predictable trajectory for the buyers and sellers of policies. It’s not getting that, and the GOP means to see it never does. Chaos is easy.

It’s like when Texas makes some unconstitutional demand that closes Planned Parenthood clinics. But the time the matter is settled in court, the facilities and staff have moved on. Being right is not always enough.

What is there to be skeptical about? It’s not like anybody knows what’s in it. There’s no CBO score. No hearings. In order to be properly skeptical, one needs information. Information is to work of Satan. Faith is about putting aside the cynicism of skeptical thought and trusting that our Lord and Savior will return this Saturday, before most of us need to see a doctor.

I agree with your current odds. I was at about 60% yesterday, but King expressing his possible opposition (regardless of his reasons) opens up the floor for other GOPers to do the same. Media pressure is critical right now and, unfortunately there is plenty (including Trump’s hair-raising UN speech) to distract from this repeal bill.

The fact that they haven’t already brought it to the floor and passed it suggests that there are still at least some issues in the senate.

But I wish that everyone at the local level opposing it would promise to put each legislator’s local office address in the letters telling people their coverage had been canceled.

I called King’s DC office just this morning, and asked if he would speak out for New Yorker’s about the dangers of the Graham bill, and the young man answering the phone said, and I’m paraphrasing, Duh, he is in the Congress and the Senate is where the vote will take place. But thanks anyway. Glad to hear him defending us.
