Discussion for article #244177
This is, literally, the dumbest ad I’ve ever seen. Seriously, Trump? You paid for this shit? Seriously?
On snap …this ad seals the deal … there is now no way that Obama will win re-election!!
Trump: “TIME FOR A LEADER WITH REAL PRIORITIES.”
Says candidate Palpatine.
We get it, Trump. You are against the black guy, even though he isn’t in the race.
Edit: pun not intended.
I wonder if they high-fived each other in the Trump camp when they previewed this? “AWESOME! GREAT AD!!! REALLY EFFECTIVE!!”
I am baffled by its dumbness.
HAHA! Well done.
“President Trump”
The best Republican (primary) OR Democratic (General Election) slogan to scare the bejeezus out of their voters and get them to the polls
He does realize that he’s not running against Obama doesn’t he?
Because of course being President means absolutely no down time ever. I’m sure Trump will gladly tear himself away from his own self promotion on whichever network that would still have him if he were to be elected.
hey Donnie… do you warn the press corp about snakes on a plane when they fly with you?
He does. And he is aware of his audience.
And that has always been what this has really been about:
The people who support Trump.
Without them, we are only mentioning Trump when topics like “sexual perversion”, “multiple wives”, “bankruptcy”, “Celebrity Apprentice” come up.
Trump fails to see how this petty ad reflects his own petty approach to government. He thinks he’s being clever, but he reveals himself – once again – as fully incapable of discussing real issues. This is so high school.
It has nothing to do with him being black you race-card player! It’s that he’s from Kenya. And not a citizen. And a Muslim. And a militant Muslim, Kenyan socialist who jokes, jokes JOKES while our HEROES are fighting for FREEDOM and protecting MARRIAGE.
You’re the bigots, libtards. Conservatives love black people. Look at how much we adore Hermann Cain and Ben Carson.
We hear a lot about Trump’s priorities.
Oh, they’re changeable and contradictory and bankrupt, depending on the day of the week.
But no one can say that Trump doesn’t have them
Be careful Donald. You may have to live by the standard you just set.
So something really interesting that I read recently was about why spam mails are of such low quality, and continue to use stuff everyone knows is spam (Nigerian prince, or the comments about a neighbor making $1000s a week). And the reasoning was simple. People who would believe those ads, are the only people who could probably get scammed. So it basically acts as a filter for gullible people, so the scammer doesn’t waste time on someone who may be more skeptical.
I wonder if there is a similar dynamic here, where Trump knows his message only appeals to people who also don’t care for high quality (or even halfway sensible) commercials, so by putting out these crappy ads, he is targeting only the people who would vote for him, and encouraging them to come out to vote, instead of say, maybe, a Jeb! Bush (who is equally bad, if not worse, but the person the smarter republican would vote for to save face).
Uh, yeah. It would be a lot safer for Trump to bring up the question of seriousness if he were not uniquely, amazingly, unprecedentedly susceptible to looking buffoonish and unserious himself.

There are animals more dignified and serious, btw:
“WE ARE IN A SERIOUS WAR.”
And Presidential candidate Donald Trump is preparing himself to lead the United States through this time of war by spending day after day after day making comments on social media networks.
just shows the power of a trump-dump.
