Discussion: New Trump Campaign Manager: We'll Sharpen Message But 'Let Him Be Him'

“He scores very well in strong leader.”
He does? Trump couldn’t lead a dog to a pork chop.

I wonder what other categories they had. Coat? Muzzle? Gait?

New Manager: He scores very well if people view him as a Dictator. We want to make that a central theme. We also want to emphasize his history of bigotry as his strength.

I can’t wait until they let him shed his skin!!!

“It will be a short pipeline–Breitbart writers will make stuff up, I’ll read the copy, and I’ll whisper it into Trump’s ear just before he takes the stage.”

It’s like watching the last 15 minutes of The Hindenburg

Jeb liked being behind too. Right where he wanted to be, as I recall. Of course it’s been a long time since we talked about him much so it’s hard to remember.

I always enjoy hearing about Trump’s authenticity too. This is by miles the least authentic person in public life in our lifetimes. There is no there there, there is no genuine person, there is very nearly no actual identity at all. It’s just a vacuum, a black hole of need, a shape-shifting entity that will tell any lie, be and do anything you want it to be as long as you pay it attention and feed its raging desire for validation. It has no beliefs, no values, no feelings for anything or anyone. An authentic human being is consistent. But that thing, that entity, is consistent only in its drive to do anything that feeds the hunger. An-y-thing. And you know what, Kellyanne? You know it.

I can imagine everyone reading this article and thinking, “She can’t be serious, can she? Let Trump keep on being the way he has been?”
Why, yes. She is totally serious, because she, like the rest of the campaign swine, is a fucking moron.
But I must say, from the picture used for the article, that Roger Stone looks very good in drag instead of that stupid zoot suit he wears all the time.

“Let Trump be Trump” = “Let Trump be gone!” (And none too soon.)

I thought “she” looked familiar in that pic!

You’re being too nice to him. To them.

I think we’re going to sharpen the message.

Add a few decibels to those dog-whistles.

And when asked about Trump’s big slip in the polls, Conway said, “I think it helps us to be a little bit behind, and we are. It lights a fire under us, and it reminds us what we need to do to get this done.”

I know when my favorite football team is down 21-3 late in the 4th quarter all the players on the field are heartened and appreciative of having that deficit to motivate them to play well.

I shall try harder. But honestly, he—and they—challenge and put to shame one’s efforts to scorn and detest them adequately.

In fairness, ‘let Trump be Trump’ is what they have to say to keep their job. I think she can and will try to use data to sharpen his attacks. The problem as always been where Trump goes between and around the sound bites fed to him. They’re not changing that.

Drumpf’s sharper image. Because it went so well the first time.

I do hope Kellyanne has enjoyed her insider status. After this implosion, her name will be tainted forever.

“And you know what, Kellyanne? You know it.” She does, of course, but she is going to tell flat-out lies like the rest of his crew. I will say this, though, judging from those quotes it sounds as if she may be a more smooth and skilled liar than other Trump spokespeople. But at this point I don’t think that will make any difference.

Speaking of Orly … When is she finally going to show up?

I don’t think Trump’s the kind of person who takes kindly to a woman claiming she’ll “let” him be any particular way. Her days on the team are numbered, unless she has nice gams.
