Trump: When you compare this to Obama and George W Bush tenures, this is a big positive towards my policies.
Bill Clinton: What is a deficit?
Drumpf’s Chapter 11 past writ large.
No problemo, Trump will get Mexico to pay for it.
This means nothing to most GOPPERS (particularly the Base). We are in a Post Factual Democracy (P.F.D.) and I wish this could become more of a narrative.
Mann and Ornstein spoke of the MSM “False Equivalency Narrative”…and there will be other “experts” trotted out. There is a excellent post from a reader of The Financial Times which I forwarded on the TPM story in which Manafort stated that Trump doesn’t need facts to make decisions.
I guarantee if he ever has to actually answer a question on these reports, he’ll say it doesn’t matter because he can just have the US Mint print more money.
The committee’s prediction makes the unwarranted assumption that there would be a nation surviving to carry the increased debt load. And even if there were, deficits don’t matter when there is a Republican wandering around in the White House.
Not to worry. Trump always profits from debt, simply by sticking someone else with the tab. He’ll pay off the bondholders with fake diamonds set in pewter.
Trump: What, me worry? People who lend you money are such suckers, amirite?
Another big giveaway…one that is ‘acceptable’ because it’s not those pesky low life Democrats…gotcha.
So, in other words, it will be YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!
If Everett Dirksen were alive today, he’d be turning over in his grave.
Donald Trump’s economic proposals would “massively increase” the national debt over the next decade, according to projections from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget out Sunday.
Not a problem – Trump says debt is great, because if you can’t repay it, you just bully your creditors into accepting pennies on the dollar. So much winning!
Maybe Jan Brewer should drop the “don’t call be racist” bullshit and go talk up The Rump’s plan to cut rich people’s taxes instead.
Donnie Dipshit is using the metric system to calculate the debt and by that calculation it would only be $4T… then he’d make a debt swap deal with Argentina and cut the debt in half…
Nothing to see here, given that all of Trump’s proposals are merely “suggestions.”
Trump’s policies will explode the deficit adding $11.5 Trillion to the debt. Trump seems to be Reagan without the vision or charm.
“The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicted that the national debt will rise by another $10 trillion by 2026, bringing debt to 86 percent of Gross Domestic Product, regardless of the economic proposals laid out by the 2016 presidential contenders.”
The CBO has technically not been nonpartisan since the Republican Congressional majority institutionalized magical thinking, so their conclusions that the debt will rise by an equal amount regardless of who gets elected in Novemner is nothing more than “both sides do it.”
Thank you SIR…
A much needed perspective.
Is the $11.5 trillion before or after we default on our debt?
