I say this because somebody on the Post --Sargent I think, had a total of zero “Noes” on the bill yesterday, listing Collins, Murkowski and Rand as maybes along with a huge list of non-Yesses. Collins says just now she’s leaning no. Surprising since this might cause her to lose a spot on a Sunday show. Maybe she wants to go home this weekend.
The main reason for the rush to push this fucking turd of a bill through to a vote is that the billionaires are threatening to “turn off the spigot” until they raid Medicaid and pass those damn tax cuts. So, Congressmen, no more campaign cash for you until you get this done.
In response to the naked threat, Republicans slap together the shittiest bill ever conceived and jam it through regardless of merit by September 30, because that’s the deadline for reconciliation bills. After Sept 30, they’ll need to rustle up 60 votes instead of 50 to keep the billionaire cash flowing.
The insult to Obama and claiming to fulfill hollow campaign rhetoric are a plus, but not the main driver for their panicky action.

It’s the health insurance version of the question, “If Donald Trump drops a few nukes, then what?” What happens is that the ENTIRE health insurance system blows up, killing not just the people on Medicaid and individual market insurance, but even the people with employer-based coverage, not to mention the majority of rural health care workers, who are, for the most part wholly dependent on Medicare and Medicaid dollars for business viability. Sure, it will be an AWESOME political win (which the Dems will find a way to blow), but is that really worth so many people actually dying?

Although it’s small consolation the introduction of the Graham-Cassidy-Satan™ bill has set up a fascinating David vs Goliath scenario pitting the Everyman, in the guise of Jimmy Kimmel, against the oligarch marionettes who control the vise squeezing the testicles of Rethugliklan senators.
I do hope people don’t become disheartened too soon. We’ve beat this back before. We can do it again.
Keep calling Senators at their Washington and local offices. FAX them from your smartphone or computer using Fax Senators or the text apps (Sorry, I don’t have the number for that. Somebody?) currently available.
Most importantly: Don’t Give Up!

Has the parliamentarian ruled on whether all the regulatory parts of the bill even qualify for reconciliation?
Not seeing the public outcry this time around, so yes, I think that’s very possible.
It’s a good ad, but the public is growing weary from so much resisting with so little result.
