Discussion: New Polls: Majorities Blame Trump And GOP For Shutdown, Oppose Border Wall

I’m not in the US… But surely the Democrats are playing TV adds with Trump saying that around the clock?

I mean, why the hell wouldn’t you?

“compared to 29 percent who blame congressional Democrats”

The REAL Trump base, minus the stubborn, left-hating Republicans who really didn’t like Trump until they got their surprise victory. Even THEY can’t propose such an outrageously false premise. Every time the polls dip down there, it is getting down to Trump’s certified cult.

Plus it makes him look even more like the devil himself.

I think this is gonna take defections en mass by GOPers to get resolved. Tens of senators will hafta crowd into McConnell’s office on Monday or soon thereafter and hold him hostage and inform him he has been demoted to ordinary senator status and a new more compliant Majority Leader steps to center stage.

The BIG question now is will there be an empty shelf in Leavenworth for the Trump Presidential Library?

Republicans may act like this doesn’t bother them but that is BS. They know they are in for major trouble. Even before the shutdown they were looking at losses in the Senate in 2020. The very fact that the house GOP are pretending to be upset with Steve King shows you which way the wind is blowing. It is all too late, of course. The Democratic coalition got a taste of power in 2018, I don’t see us backing down an inch in 2020.

Well, well, well…

If I’m not mistaken, that’s the first time any poll (associated with) Trump has gone below 30%.

Winning?

After wandering about today, reading and more reading, this weekend looks like this.

Someone put their quarter on the table (NYT) and the next round of pool has started.
The balls were racked and then a hard break made.
All weekend those balls have been scattering across the table. They have come to rest and the next shot is being lined up.
Watching to see if Mueller puts a little English into it.
This week is going to be interesting.

Again.

Go onto social media, you’ll find replays of Rump taking credit for the shutdown in his own words. Why would you spend one dime on trying to convince people of something that actually speaks for itself??

It seems people are learning without the benefit of 30-second ads that a racist ignoramus is in control and they don’t approve his message.

Perhaps this cartoon will help the deplorables understand the popularity of the GOP and its so-called leadership?

His approval rating according to fivethirtyeight.com is 40.6%, a shade lower than it’s usually been, but never higher than 42%

It always pays to remember that, by definition, half of the population has an IQ of 100 or less.

And we still haven’t polled with the new accusations of Trump being an outright russian agent. GOPers are going to demoralize if those gain traction.
