Discussion: New Poll Gives GOP Challenger First Big Lead In Colorado Senate Race

Discussion for article #227814

I don’t live in Colorado. Can someone with more information than is in this article explain what is going on?

Can’t believe how stupid people are.

Spare me! Quinnipac is the same pollster that gave Joni Ernst a big lead when she’s been showing she’s not yet ready for prime time. So I doubt this is true

Gardner isn’t crowing about any internal polling that indicates the same thing. There’s probably a good reason for that.

Q has to be included because it is non-partisan, but their best results are when they poll in the Northeast where they’re from.

This poll is an obvious outlier.

That said, unless the polling is uniformly advantageous to one candidate over a broad date range and over a varied group of pollsters, it is unwise to put too much stock in what one poll says.

Oh I do not know. The Dems have not been the best at doing anything either. What the hell nothing is being accomplished, The Rep stall everything and the Dems allow it, So know we will have the Dems stall everything. The only thing that changes are the actors.

Most polls show that the Democrats have gained considerable ground in the Senate races, and are as likely to keep control as not.

They must have only polled tea baggers.

The Dems allow it? How?

Since Colorado legalized Weed. I’d remind Colorado voters. If the GOP gains control of congress and the Presidency in 2016. I ASSURE you the experiment with legalizing weed will end. Frankly I realize the gridlock in Washington angers voters. But new jobs info out today shows labor hiring firming up. Market at all time highs. Frankly I don’t understand why people are so unhappy. Am I better off than I was in 2008? I assure you I am. I am working 6 days a week last 3 months with 1 shift Overtime every week. I just bought a 60 inch Samsung Plasma TV. The PNF8500. Off topic but this TV while expensive is NICE. Samsung is ending production on all Plasma TV’s November 30th. So if you want one order direct from Samsung. NO Tax! It’s the last great Plasma TV before all Plasma TV’s are gone forever by end of year. Soo why people want to give control to the GOP in the Senate or change anything right now in Washington is beyond my understanding. ISIS threat? Pleasssseeee…

Q poll is getting worse and worse. Soon nobody will take them serious anymore. I say good riddance. I have always said that Quinnipiac is republican leaning. Now they have proved beyond a doubt they are no long non partisan.

I get annoyed when TPM trumpets a single poll as “Giving Candidate X the lead”.

It’s just a single poll. The poll tracker is much more informative. And the poll tracker for this race is bizarre in the extreme. Has Udall had some sort of major scandal in the last week? If not, I think we’re seeing outlier results.

Polling outfits this far out from the election get attention by skewing their results one way or another. Nobody will remember their wild swings (very exciting!) once the elections get close and they start adhering to proper methodology in their polling.

Right now, wild, exciting results are what get press, and many pollsters are happy to take polls in a way that provide those results. Gallup was the pioneer in this kind of poll sensationalism, and I’m not surprised others are jumping on the gravy train.

there is a distinct smell of desperation in the gop/bagger camp…the latest from the “Crazy Corner” of the State is not helping them, to our amusement…they are losing…they know it…and the Dark Money Machine ain’t gonna save 'em…It will look close in the polls from outside sources because they are not in Colorado…and they don’t understand the gop/baggers are fading, and the only thing that can save them is, nothing…

Non-partisan doesn’t mean they are non-aligned with power politics in the Northeast and their interest in FL, TX, CO, CA, IL and OR.
