Discussion: New Jersey Cop: Obama Doesn’t Follow Constitution So We Don’t Have To Either

Discussion for article #226153

By that logic, Seal was allowed to bang Heidi Klum so I get to as well.

That’s how this works, right?

Tea Partiers : it isn’t up to you to decide whether Obama has “decimated” the Constitution or not. That is the Supreme Court’s job. Until the Supreme Court declares something Obama has done as unconstitutional, just STFU, OK?

Just because Obama has policy ideas that differ from yours, that does not make them unconstitutional.

Grow up.

Yeah, that was stupid.

The irony is that both Officer Recine an citizen Wronko are probably both Ron Paul supporters.

Just curious–under what circumstances can/can’t a police officer ask people in a public building for their identification?

Same reason that I vote in GOP primaries in Mississippi?

So does he support Obama “decimating” the Constitution or not?
Because if he’s not supportive, why would he emulate what Obama is doing if he sees it as wrong?

Oh gawwd why am I even asking this. .

Get in line on that one

And is there anyone who knows what “decimate” means?

There is too much logic in your question for them to contemplate.

Or to put it in terms the average Tea Partier can understand: Just because Obama jumped off a bridge would you do it as well?

Wow, all by his little lonesome, boo?

Somebody needs to take all his free time now that he’s gainfully unemployed and take a civics refresher.

This guy is a direct and tangible result of 8 years of Bush/Cheney overreach - that someone can think, and speak, as though the President and the President alone has the power to change the Constitution, or by their twisted logic, ignore it completely (which is in itself a total fallacy they cannot support either when you ask for a specific example).

It’s manifesting itself in so many delightful ways, wouldn’t you say?

They can always ask…the issue is how you respond and their resulting actions afterwards. If in your response you create enough suspicion, then you may give them a cause to detain you for further questioning.

I am not being flippant here. Cops can do lots of things that would be unconstitutional if you refuse them. But once you agree, you have opened the door wide open…quite literally in many cases like say, letting them into your house to talk with you.

A police officer (and anyone else) can always ASK for ID but whether they can require you to produce it varies by state.

Wow…really? I never considered decimate an Ivy League word.

It means to destroy large portions of something.
