Discussion for article #226785
Well! Well! Well!..Republican crook Gov McDonnell facing some serious prison time gone. Republican crook and gangster godfather Gov Christie also facing some serious prison time going. Republican crook and dumb as a box of rocks Gov Rick Perry facing serious prison time also going. Florida Republican crook Gov Scott on the ropes and wonât be re-elected going.
Finally Republican Gov Scott Walker time is ticking away for him and all the above were the rising stars of the GOP.
Some stars hey!! One thing about stars is when they get a little to hot they go super nova and every one of them have questionable past history and current corruption problems. Were laughing at the GOP crop of rising stars.
Holy moley. Seeing this dick go to prison would be like someone handing me a gallon bucket of bon bons.
That imagery made me chuckle.

Eh, I donât see anything here thatâs going to sink Walker by itself. Iâve read so many confident predictions over the last year that the latest âbombshell revelationsâ will âdestroyâ Walker and nothing concrete has happened. The people who support Walker donât give a shit about any of this, and there are enough corrupt wingnut judges that we wonât see any remedies judicially.
The only solution is for the Democratic base voters to get off their asses on election day and vote this turd out of office. Given the long, sad history of non-Presidential year voting, I believe Walker will be re-elected by a comfortable margin.
Iâm sensing that all the liberal 'blogs are reporting on other reports about these documents instead of reading the documents themselves.
Look at this passage from an email listed in the documents:
â⌠the Governor is encouraging all to invest in the Wisconsin Club for Growth.â
Not âdonateâ or âcontributeâ - âinvestâ.
It suggests a certain quid-pro-quo mindset, that by giving money to help Scott Walker you will get a return on your investment.
IMO we need to hammer on this aspect, too, and itâs a mistake to ignore the deliberate choice of words in this email.
What are you talking about? Politicians getting big money from donors and organizations consonant with their views is hardly news. Nothing criminal or unsavory there. Just good olâ capitalist politics. Donât know what will happen, but as it stands now, Congressional year turnout with Obama in office favors the Republicans (it usually does with a Democrat in the White House).
I want the ice cream chocolate covered ones they used to sell in the movie theater back on long island when I was a kid.
ââŚLet them know that you can accept corporate contributions and it is not reportedâŚâ
Thatâs the important part â that itâs not reported.
Time for the failed governor to start a media campaign letting everybody know heâs one politician dedicated to transparency in government, and to complete secrecy for political backroom deals.
Deals made with people on the other side of Wisconsinâs borders.
âAs the governor discussed ... he wants all the issue advocacy efforts run thru one group to ensure correct messaging,â Kate Doner, a Walker consultant, wrote another adviser. âWe had some past problems with multiple groups doing work on âbehalfâ of Gov. Walker and it caused some issues.â
In the words of a governor who has been indicted on corruption charges: âOops!â
Hey, man, youâre messing with my insulin!
Seeing Walker AND Perry going to prison would be like being given the keys to the bob bon factory. Itâs a long shot, I know, but if youâre going to dreamâŚ
Photo looks as if Scott just finished his requisite âjobâ for the KochBoys.
As long as there are crooked judges in Wisconsin there will be crooked republicans.
I love the sentiment, but only one of those GOPâers you mentioned is going to do time, much less a conviction.
And Christieâs no supernova, more like a gassy red giant.
What evidence is there right now that Christie is even going to be convicted of anything? I think people are underestimating the challenges of even getting charges filed, let alone conviction and imprisonment.
As far as Walker versus Burke goes, if Wisconsin voters can elect a complete moron like Ron Johnson instead of Russ Feingold, theyâre certainly capable of re-electing Walker.
Progressives tend to ignore the fact that the Walker case involves boring statutes about campaign financing that doesnât have much juice for a large swath of the population. Itâs stuff that good-government liberals like us care about, but itâs not easy for many voters to understand or care deeply about. If there were photos or evidence of Walker accepting briefcases full of hard cash that would be one thing, but itâs all just about regulations about who can give money to whom and who can coordinate with whom. Itâs dry stuff that doesnât motivate large parts of the Dem base all by itself. If it did, we wouldnât have Republican governors in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan in the first place.
I would love to see Walker go to prison. Unfortunately, I suspect the eventual outcome will be that this will make it to the Supreme Court, where it will all be deemed legal.
Which is exactly why I think the only remedy is in November at the polls. Alito, Scalia, Kennedy, Roberts, and Thomas will all give Walkerâs actions an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
All the Top Contenders for the GOP to run for President like McDonnell, Christie, and Walker are turning out to be crooks and corrupt politicians. Of course you would find that any Republican that would run for President to be either corrupt, crooked or both.
âLet them know that you can accept corporate contributions and it is not reported.â
Thereâs the REAL Citizens United motive⌠to legalize unlimited, unregulated money in the campaign process.
