Kushner’s lawyers have insisted he accidentally left his meetings with foreign government officials off his initial application, telling Yahoo a member of his staff prematurely hit the “send” button on the email before the form was completed.
And it took 3 times to get it correct? Doesn’t wash even if true.
“It’s unclear if Trump’s legal team concealed the meeting from their client after they were informed about it in the third week of June, or if the President is not being upfront about when he learned about it.”
I think that would be a rather monumental ethics breach for his legal team if they didn’t inform him. So I am going with the more believable scenario that Donald was not being upfront about where he learned about it.
Though it certainly makes things interesting either way. Because clearly, either the legal team is withholding information from the client, or the client is withholding information from his lawyers…or even better, both. Because clearly, every successful, high profile, legal defense in the history of the world has been based upon these scenarios.
“Kushner’s lawyers have insisted he accidentally left his meetings with foreign government officials off his initial application, telling Yahoo a member of his staff prematurely hit the “send” button on the email before the form was completed.”
Yeah, that defense died moments after it was published. But I did see an interesting thread that it appears it wasn’t so much Jared and his lawyers that started knifing Junior, but rather that it started with Manafort telling the Senate Intelligence Committee about the meeting back in April. And Kushner only became aware of that last month, prompting him to update his form (again, for the 3rd time), and toss Junior under the bus in the process.
The Times later reported that Trump Jr.’s statement had been crafted by White House advisers who debated how forthcoming to be, and that Trump himself signed off on it.
Wrong. The Times reported in the FIRST story that the WH was debating how forthcoming to be and settled on the “adoptions” (lifting sanctions) lie which Trump Sr. signed off on.
TPM itself pointed this out yesterday.
Blame it on Rosemary Woods’ ghost… Geez
AND… he forgot to mention $250,000 of Israeli money, also.
Sessions forgot 3 meetings with Russians. And he’s old. Jared forgot a hundred? Oh, yeah, sorry, some unnamed shlub staffer accidentally sent it before the form was done. What?? Can’t be accidentally sent, unless you accidentally send it 28 times prematurely? Sounds like someone needs treatment for that.
Not only do the children need to go, because a) they have no qualifications for being there, b) we don’t believe in nepotism in government (yeah, I know, Duncan Hunter Jr. is my Rep), c) they have no qualities or capabilities that have earned them their positions there, and d) they all should be in jail and bankrupt and that includes the idiot father.
And not only that, the fact that these fools are his top advisors tells us that he has no character judgment and that anyone he has nominated for government service needs to go too.
ALL of them.
Darn it, I came here to make my very first comment ever on TPM, and you beat me to it.
A couple meetings a few years ago can be forgotten…over 100 is just not possible. Man, all of these people seem not to understand how these things work and think they can do whatever they want…I can’t wait until reality teaches them a lesson.
“Accidentally hit send…”
Ah, a proud day for the Trump-University-Novosibirsk Scapetern Certification Program…
You have to be quick around here.
Don’t stop trying.
If it took three tries, he’s either too dishonest or too stupid to be trusted with the nation’s secrets.
Before Honey-BooBoo there was…
“My wife likes her, and I’m gonna keep her…”
So now they’re reporting that Jr’s lawyer followed up to say that there was a 3rd individual in addition to Veselnitskaya and Akhmetshin. At this point it may as well have been Putin himself. Are we missing anyone else?
When you wire a rat brain’s pleasure center to a button, it will literally kill itself pushing the button.
I dunno, maybe wunderkind Jared is expanding his portfolio into medical experimentation with humans to test this theory out.
Moose and Squirrel, Boris and Natasha…
The easiest thing in the world is to hold a lie up to the truth and tell which one’s which.
ALL a PACK OF LIES!
Kushner’s lawyers have insisted he accidentally left his meetings with foreign government officials off his initial application, telling Yahoo a member of his staff prematurely hit the “send” button on the form before it was completed.
Allegra Kirkland has been the best reporter on this site for some time, in my opinion.
She is part of a whole team of wonderful reporters Josh has on board right now. I have a hard time saying who is the best, because I like so many of them…Tierney Sneed, Alice Ollenstein, Esme Cribb as well as Allegra Kirkland all come to mind.
Plus they have the COOLEST collection of names for any news organization
