Discussion: Netanyahu: EU Should Be 'Ashamed' Of Decision To Label Settlement Products

Discussion for article #242743

If Netanyahu doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with Israel occupying that land, then why would he object to having products from there labeled as such?

EU is full of Antisemites who attack Jews and Israel while they do nothing to the Palestinians. The Palis voted in a terrorist group to lead them. The Palis support armed terrorism in the majority. They will also let themselves be used as human shileds and if they end up wounded or dead they will not mind. They just take pictures and use those to get people to think Israel is evil.Israel tries to work with them but it never ends up well. Then the palis do a terrorist attack and then Israel will do something back against the filthy terrorism lovers. In the Pali’s Constitution it says to kill the Jews and throw them into the sea.
Islam is from 600AD roughly.
Judaism is from over 5000 years ago as the Jewish Calendar is now 5776 years.

@gorehound:

Oh, puh-lease.

Fuck Bibi and the rest of the Likkud war criminals.

It’s also pretty rich that Bibi can chastise people and say they should be “ashamed” when he has absolutely no concept of the meaning of the word.

Rather crudely expressed propaganda for a Hasbari; you must be an independent contractor or a fellow traveller.

Chutzpah means never having to say you’re sorry; rather the other should be eternally sorry for their thoughts, words and deeds against you.

What is your final solution to the Palestinian problem??

Hey gorehound, go to your beloved Israel now, or if already there, stay there. Enjoy.

Israel should be ashamed of the nearly 50 year occupation of Palestine and it’s systematic colonization of those occupied territories.

Those settlements are illegal according to international law. They should not be permitted world trade at all. They have a lot of nerve to get upset that they will be named.

Nuttin’Yahoo is one to be talking about who should be ashamed…

And the fact that you tell the older fairy tale should impact people’s lives today WHY?

Judaism is older so Jews are superior, which justifies any actions against the people living in occupied territory, Got it.

That’s a very good question. Generally speaking people who are proud of their work want people to know who they are. I wonder why they’re not…

Netanyahu should be ‘ashamed’ that he wants to hide the source of products from European consumers.

No, Judaism and Christianity are both roughly the same age. Both have their roots in 500BC, certainly no earlier when the area was conquered by the Persian empire and a new ruling class transplanted from Babylon under Cyrus the Great.

Like every other world religion, Judaism and Christianity are syncretic religions, a mishmash of Persian Zoroastrianism and some local legends. Like every other ancient religion, there was a considerable degree of eclecticism and diversity in theology and religious practices. The Jesus cult probably began around 200-100 BC and was as much a part of mainstream judaism as any other in its day.

The point of the Jesus cult was that there is a single human sacrifice that obviates the need for all future animal sacrifice and thus the need for the temple cult controlled by the Sadducees. This puts the cult directly in the mainstream of Pharisaical practice.

The division between Judaism and Christianity doesn’t happen till about 100AD as different groups attempt to establish a continuing tradition in the wake of the destruction of the temple. It seems likely that any mention of messianic prophecies would be ruthlessly suppressed at that point. Mark’s gospel and its elaborations by Mathew and Luke provide one strategy for getting the word past the censor - claim that the messiah has already arrived. Observant Judaism takes the other option of suppressing all mention of Messianic prophecies which is why there are rather few mentions of the Messiah in the Talmud considering how important he is meant to be.

In short, your fables are as meaningless and ludicrous of the Scientologists or the Mormons. The Romans did not force the entire population of ancient Judea into exile, they did exile between a sixth and a third on two occasions. But the bulk of the population chose to give up what had become a prohibited religion or a religion they had never actually practiced.

Now I can’t provide evidence to prove my version of events but it is at least consistent with the historical facts that are known and with human nature. And I am not using my version of events to demand special treatment for my ethnic group over others.

Netanyahu has no shame. That man is only starting to reap the rewards of his refusal to engage in talks for a 2 state solution. Thought he was so clever. Now he tries to back track and no one is buying his crap.

Poor Bibi…he’s so used to people buying his bullshit, the alternating fantasies that come from opposite sides of his mouth. Bibi, day one: Per our agreement Israel will cease new settlements -> Bibi, day two: Of course I approve new settlements. Rinse, and repeat.
