Discussion: Neo-Nazis Clashed With Anti-Police Brutality Protesters This Weekend In Washington State
Every day, in every state of the union some bigot is raising their kids with a dream of the coming race war.
Racism is learned behavior and only education can eradicate it.
I could say, “You know who else engaged in street battles with political rivals?” but that meme is a bit more amusing when you don’t have actual Nazis actually battling people in the street exactly the way they did in the 1920s and 30s.
“Volksfront.”
I hope they drove to the demonstration in Volkswagens.
And if they vote, you know they’re not voting for Democrats.
I couldn’t agree more.
I might add that racism can also be exacerbated by parents and educators as well.
The chief enabler of racism, in my opinion, is the MSM (the current, profit-oriented, corporate-controlled version).
FOX is an organ which fans the flames of those already in the grips of racism.
But for pure, unadulturated enabling, nothing comes close to the MSM:
- Few stories of the increase in interracial/minority group-majority group marriages
- Few stories of the increase in self-identification, both racially and ethnically
- Few stories of mutitudes of examples of cooperation and fellowship across group lines
- Few stories of people (like me) who comfortably go between and among groups, both behaviorally
AND WITH REGARD TO SELF IDENTIFICATION - Few stories of people with more than one identification
- Few stories of people LEARNING TO LIVE TOGETHER, after initial difficulties
- Few stories of the connection of the “race” game and socioeconomic stratification
That last one (socioeconomic stratification) is one which could only be possible with a great deal of a “leap forward” in comprehension, insight and ability to free-associate.
Since the both the MSM and FOX are owned by and operated on behalf of the same subset of people (Oligarchs), this is unlikely to happen.
I had a healthy and lively debate yesterday with another poster dealing with cyber-news versus MSM news. His point was that cyber-news has its advantages.
I believe that the MSM is permanently debauched and corrupt, tasked with the duty of administering misinformation to a (hopefully for the 0.001%) dumbed-down population. The hope, therefore, would seem to be in cyberspace, both for handling this obscene “race” business AND for providing the NECESSARY duty of informing the public of events, like the Fourth Estate of old.
My caveat here, however is this:
Cyber-news is going to have to have some sort of editorial control and refereed standards and an idea of PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISM. Otherwise, we will be as though our top universities are replaced by a Professorship of “who has the most catchy blog?”
Saw photos of the “Volk” on the news. As is usual, the white “supremacists” always look so inferior.
Neo-Nazis did not clash with anti police protesters, they clashed with mostly black peaceful protesters, protesting another shooting by police of unarmed black people.
And once again, we are left to ponder the startling similarity of the rhetoric of open racists on Stormfront and the totally-not-racist conservatives commenting on FB, Disqus, and other such platforms. It appears that the difference between being an avowed racist and a totally-not-racist that the latter do not explicitly identify who they mean by “us” and who is “them.”
If the police truly want to distance themselves from the White Supremacists, they will hold open and honest investigations into the shootings and hold those responsible accountable even if that does not mean charging them with a crime. I think it’s time to stop giving cops who shoot unarmed people a free pass.
Unarmed people being unarmed manage to murder more people then people armed with shotguns trying to murder people.
The two blacks that were shot had shoplifted and attacked a store worker trying to stop them. Then the two blacks attacked the police officer with their skateboards. Hence they were not armed they were using an improvised weapon.
Honestly if this trend continues around the country it could be a good thing. It might actually force local politicians to wake up once they see that the only people protesting in support of the police are neo-nazis.
Where are Jake and Elwood when you need them?
You should get a carbon monoxide detector for your home.
People are beginning to act on the GOP infotainments manufactured “suppression of white christians” crisis.
Ah, Neo-Nazis, aka those who have learned NOTHING from history. What a bunch of pimple-faced douchebags, but then, I repeat myself. Don’t fight with these idiots, point at them and laugh. They are a joke.
150 to 10…I guess the klanholes were SUPREMELY outnumbered
Neo-nazis…part of the Republican Tea Party movement.
Just look at Maine Republican Tea Party Governor Paul Lepage and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker - both of them are racists. The Koch brothers are racists…anti black, antisemitic and bigots. Leapage and Walker frequently meet in secret meetings with neo-nazis and white supremacist groups.
This nation is at is best and its strongest when we are a nation of EQUALS! Divided by bigotry and white fragility and we are weakened and divided!
End racism now! End economic inequality now!
When was the last time an armed law-breaking white supremacist was shot by the police?
As far as I know the Bundy guy still is alive and free, and his gang did point guns to law enforcement officers.
Olympia is a small, (42,000) town, the state capital, and home to Evergreen State College. It is 85% white and less that 2% of the population is black. I sincerely doubt race played no part in the decision to shoot 2 kids who stole beer. The response would have been much different if it had been 2 white college students.
