Discussion: NC Paper: Burr Camp Stopped Sharing Schedule With Us Due To Our Coverage

Maybe they should just stop covering him at all. And maybe other papers should do the same to protest media manipulation.

(Yeah, I know, not gonna happen. But a guy can dream, can’t he?)

Looks like Brave Sir Burr has turned into something that his hero Donald Trump likes to grab fairly often.

Mainstream media has forgotten that Freedom of the Press was written so that the press would be a watchdog against government corruption. These days, even reputable news outlets like CNN devote more screen time to nonsensical topics, like whether or not Emma Watson was wearing underwear when she spoke at the UN than they do to how many billions of tax dollars are ending up in CEO bank accounts.

If I was running for office – hell, even though I’m not – a reporter could ask me anything about policy, my campaign, my past, my behavior, or whatever that he/she wanted to ask, expect me to stand there and give a rational complete answer, hold me to it in follow-up, and nail me to a wall (figuratively speaking) when (not if) I do something stupid.

Hey, Richard, if you can’t stand the heat…

Yet he was quick to make sure the N&O covered his “apology” for his Clinton bullseye comment.

“The comment I made was inappropriate, and I apologize for it,” Burr said in a written statement provided to The News & Observer.

So basically he’s calling them lügenpresse.

The Trumpization of Republican campaigns continues apace.

So, North Carolinians, are you really going to re-elect this waste of O2 to the Senate?

Facts are such inconvenient things to GOP office seekers.

That’s political/operative incompetence and strategically insane. Gives me hope he might go down to defeat!

If Alexander Hamilton hadn’t thrown away his shot, we wouldn’t have Aaron Burr’s descendent in the Senate.

Imagine how the presidential race might be right now if the fawning media hadn’t covered Trump like a blanket.

I dunno. Look how much extra time Farenholdt has had since the WaPo was kicked off the HOTOG bus. Is a week enough time to look into more Burr mischief?

Maybe they should just stop covering him at all.

Or maybe they should just reprint AP coverage of Burr a day late.

But what an infantile move on Burr’s part. Wants to shoot Hillary, but can’t take some negative press.

Wimp.

…and here we thought Sharron Angle’s petulant rant of ‘We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported…’ was just something a whack job would say…it turns out it’s a Republican party ‘thing’.

It ain’t easy; Burr, Tillis, McCrory and a stacked Republican legislature desperate to keep things the same as us Northerners move in and beep our horns and speak our minds - whether they want our opinions or not.

Burr has been entrusted with providing the NSA, CIA and FBI with the tools of making a Total Surveillance state, so his capricious behavior doesn’t instill confidence. Imagine even the notion of using the power of the state’s machinery to achieve some partisan objective.

What a coward.

Maybe if somebody’d covered him with a blanket we wouldn’t be in this mess.
