Dear NC legislature. Unfortunately, your filing was not accompanied by the documentation required to verify your identity for the purpose of pursuing a case in this court. This court takes legislative fraud very seriously, so please consult the list of acceptable IDs. Please note that High School student IDs are no longer accepted for students over the age of 30, even if the ID is current.
Furthermore, your filing must be made on filing day, or in a 2-hour window the Sunday before filing day. We aren’t sure how this requirement supposedly reduces legislative fraud, but our out-of-state consultant on legislative fraud, SMARTALEC, showed us a lot of graphs and said that the reduction in filing hours would make the blue line point in the right direction.
Also, the office to which you submitted your filing is no longer operating as a filing office. Your filing site is now several counties away, but the extra time you will have to relax and chat in line will more than make up for the inconvenience. Before you object, remember: legislative fraud.
