Discussion: NC GOP Senator Behind Bathroom Bill Speaks Out About His Donation To Gab

Old tune:

Bishop announced on Twitter that he was ā€œabout done with SF thought police tech giants.ā€

New tune:

ā€œI don’t use Gab, but if its management allows its users to promote violence, anti-Semitism, and racism on the platform, they certainly have misled investors and they will be gone quickly, and rightfully so,ā€ he wrote.

Bishop sent out a tweet saying he only gave the site $500 via a crowdfunding effort.

Next up, it’s revealed that Bishop owns stock in the Daily Stormer and is shocked — SHOCKED! — to discover it is used to promote white-supremacist, anti-semitic, pro-Nazi views.

ā€œI thought it was a local Storm Lake, Iowa weekly newspaper,ā€ he said. ā€œI’m surprised Rep. Steve King recommended it so highly it to me.ā€

ā€œYeah, I donated to Mussolini’s annual gala, but it wasn’t even enough to get me VIP seating. And nobody told me he was a dictator.ā€

…[T]he $500 Bishop gave wasn’t even enough to earn him a branded coffee mug.

He’s ā€˜done with the SF thought police’ but he didn’t know that GAB was promoting hate speech. Something smells Dan…it might be YOU!

He invested in the Gab thought police! Great job!

From the story: ā€œWithin minutes of the statement’s release, Bishop sent out a tweet saying he only gave the site $500 via a crowdfunding effort.ā€

That is damned rich!!! He is trying to rationalize and explain away his investment in a site that promoted white nationalism and anti-Semitism, by saying ā€˜it wasn’t that much!’ Good God Almighty!!

What a big spender. He touts that he’s investing in a startup but only gives them $500 ? If that is his idea of ā€œinvestingā€, he’s a loser. That doesn’t even rate a complimentary coffee mug…

Could it be that he’s so used to taking contributions in return for favoring donors that he doesn’t understand the difference between a donation and an investment in normal usage??? Odd.
