The courts strongly repudiated the entire case his lawyers tried to present. It wasn’t just no, it was Hell No.And there is no way to craft a new EO that erases the fact that Trump campaigned on and repeatedly said he wanted a Muslim ban. Trying to get all lawerly with the language after the courts rejected it…in part precisely because of his campaign rhetoric…is just continuing the same thing and will be met with the same rejection.
But I am all for him trying. The first roll out was completely political disaster for him and caused all sorts of discomfort for the GOP in Congress. The second roll out will be that much worse on both fronts…and will be yet another defeat.
