Discussion for article #244786
What a bunch of horseshit. This clown is up with ads all over the TV claiming heās strong and a leader. Accepting that premise as true for just a moment, heās now saying that he switched his position on immigration reform, not because it was the right thing or that he encountered new facts that said it was a bad idea, but rather simple and solely because it would not pass.
That is to say that he refused to take a principled stance on an issue and try to LEAD people to his side, but rather could not afford to be seen as supporting an idea that didnāt pass. Thatās not strength, thatās cowardice.
Rubio is a clown and his flop on immigration reform exposes just how weak he really is.
I think he backed down from a principled stance on immigration and is now back pedaling in order to appeal to the right wing base. He will not get by with this position. He has had one major test and has flopped.
little marco and cruz are both lying sacks of chit.
āThe fact of the matter is that Ted has shown a propensity throughout his career in the U.S. Senate to
take one positionlie in front of one audience and thenchange his positiontell more lies in front of another.ā
Lies. And the lying liarsā¦

Itās ISIL, Senator, not Avonā¦

Of course there is a difference because they are flip flopping for different reasons on slightly different subjects concerning immigration but that isnāt the point. The point is that they do flip flop, ala Romnerd, and have no principled stance when it counts the most.
Itās mere pandering which is what the nuts that inhabit the Party want but outside of Teabaggerstan, the electorate sees the spinelessness, understands the weakness, recoils from it and uses that to make their decision on whom is the right candidate for the job of POTUS.
The negatives on Rubio and Cruz both run deep, the immigration issue, which oh so inconveniently affects them both, is just butter on their toast.
Chuck Todd is useless with helping in this capacity.
And Rick Santorumās is FrothyUnicorn.
The reaction of the GOP base to his immigration reform bill scared the crap out of him. Going forward do not expect Rubio to base his votes/stance on anything other than how the GOP base would react.

Iran living up to the Treaty and the hostage release didnāt get much play this morningā¦a brief newer on CBSā¦but, I laughed aloud at The Donaldās pitifil, non presidential attempt to stall any comment including remarking on his statement that the hostages would ānever be releasedāā¦āYou know weāre taping this on Saturday not Sunday morning like your viewers thinkā and, thus, quick with an excuse celebrity Donald hasnāt had time to formulate a proper ass-covering remark unlike presidential statesmanship where a cheap stall could harm innocent Americans. Funny. And funny too that Stephie let him get away with it.

Rubeās still the overly coached student eager to regurgitate what heās practiced with his tutor. Hope neither he nor the missus shoot the other for fear the otherās an ISIS intruder.
It is nice to see that once in a while some Pubbie gets called on the horse manure that Pubbies are so adept at spreading.
Thereās no great or even competent brain trust leading the Sunday morning news shows. They serve merely as window dressing for the networks to pretend they care about hard news, while acting as PR vehicles for the guests who all have well-thought out agendas, and know that follow-up questions will never be asked.
I wanted to comment on the other Rubio-related article as well. When ISIS āvisits,ā would they knock or ring the doorbell? Would Rubio have time to put on his heels before unlocking his gun? So many questions . . . . I canāt believe anyone thinks this man is mature, a smart politician, or capable of holding any position more demanding than junior prom king.
Of all the other posters on TPM, I get the impression that you have better grasped the essence of Marco Rubio. Types of individuals who have encountered people like Rubio include
-
College Professors encountering students with late term papers
-
Cops encountering perps they feel like giving a knuckle sandwich to
-
Women on blind dates confronted with creeps
-
Lawyers who send their routine cases to the dumbest bastard in the law firm
To date, I cannot say that you, yourself, can be described as one of the above. Not to worry, though. The listing is not exhaustive.
He has certainly increased his chances of gun tragedy. I assume he actually did what he said and didnāt just make up some jive to satiate the gun loons.
But yeah, if true the gun is only useful if it is loaded and close at hand per paranoid thinking; against every gun owner manualās instructions. The highly likely outcome of the gun functioning as designed is curiously called an accident. The highly unlikely possibility of ISIL breaking into his house complements the Rubeās stupid judgement.
Rubio + Cruz + Bush + Trump + Santorum + Rand Paul + Richard Nixon = Americaās path to perpetual war led by crooks and their lying scum bag ways.
