Discussion: NBC: Coats Told House Intel Committee Trump Is Obsessed With Russia Probe

Of course he is. The Russia probe will eventually lead to this, which the WaPo broke this morning:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2017/world/national-security/obama-putin-election-hacking/

…and I quote:

Early last August, an envelope with extraordinary handling restrictions arrived at the White House. Sent by courier from the CIA, it carried “eyes only” instructions that its contents be shown to just four people: President Barack Obama and three senior aides.

Inside was an intelligence bombshell, a report drawn from sourcing deep inside the Russian government that detailed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s direct involvement in a cyber campaign to disrupt and discredit the U.S. presidential race.

But it went further. The intelligence captured Putin’s specific instructions on the operation’s audacious objectives — defeat or at least damage the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and help elect her opponent, Donald Trump.

At that point, the outlines of the Russian assault on the U.S. election were increasingly apparent. Hackers with ties to Russian intelligence services had been rummaging through Democratic Party computer networks, as well as some Republican systems, for more than a year. In July, the FBI had opened an investigation of contacts between Russian officials and Trump associates. And on July 22, nearly 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee were dumped online by WikiLeaks.

The president is a Traitor, folks. He is trying to stop the investigation that will expose him as an enemy agent.

I read all this this AM as well, It was a fairly long article that retraced a lot of what we do know but did lay out the Obama administration’s thinking during and sense.
And, we’re done with the maybes and possiblies, the FACT that Poot-en personally oversaw the interference with our national election and the methods by which that occurred are just public record now.

Obama is still on it and even this administration is having to concede the reality, albeit barely.

Where we are at, is what exactly to do about it. The previous sanctions were a warning shot basically and we could’ve done much more and in fact should’ve considering the ramifications of it all.
Obama held way back on his response so as not to influence the election that even he saw as in the bag for Hillary.
I am struggling to determine whether that was a good or bad choice, knowing the timing.

Unless the Dems can pull off a big win in the House, we’ll likely never see a much bigger response or any big orange heads rolling.

He is panicked by Mueller and the team he’s assembled. His lawyers have certainly told him the bona fides of the people working with Mueller and PeePee has to have some clue of what is to come.

He can tweet, threaten, intimidate, fume, rail, demean, whine… whatever. The train has left the station and is barreling down on him.

Great article in Time Magazine about Mueller and Tramp. The closing paragraph is ominous

It was tempting, as the wheels of another Washington investigation accelerated away from the station, to say that we’ve seen this all before, though never with a protagonist quite like President Trump. In his outsize personality and unmasked audacity, he’s making it clear that this all-too-familiar story has roots much deeper than even the most shopworn Washington lore. It goes back to the Greeks, who understood that the peril of kings was hubris, and that hubris was an invitation to the avenging goddess called Nemesis. In Robert Mueller, Trump may have found his.

Coats told the Senate committee that he “never felt pressure to intervene or interfere in any way with shaping intelligence in a political way or in relationship to an ongoing investigation.”

.

Trump suggested that [Coats and Rogers] publicly deny that there was evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia, according to a CNN report.

No pressure.

The sad thing is that I just can’t tell whether this is concern caused by guilt or whether it’s concern caused by a narcissistic, near-senile buffoon who cannot handle criticism or whether it’s concern caused by someone who sees everything as a zero-sum game and who has to win and dominate at all costs.

The really sad thing is that, as long as he’s President, we’re all screwed.

What Trump is mostly worried about:

1 / People will discover he is not as rich as he claims when a valid net worth calculation is made. (There are big debts with Deutsche Bank and various oligarchs.) If he is a mere 100Millionaire, then he will be subject to derision and shame. Once more proven to be a brazen liar.

2 / His sources of funding of the past 10-15 years will be shown to be laundered money from Russia and similar oligarchic cesspools, as laundered through Cyprus banks and offshore sinkholes. Opaque money implies illegal money.

3 / He was a pawn of Putin and his spies, Manafort, Flynn, et alia. Will not be the independent guy he claimed to be.

4 / His hands are really small; Melania hates him; and he like golden showers.

If Trump was revealed to be not nearly as rich as claimed: He has always ignored reality and claims of others and made stuff up in the past when he had to face some truth in order to not face it and continue to be seen as the big winner. He would claim that the value of his brand was far more than before and was being vastly undervalued, and that he had never claimed a higher worth in the past, that it was just what other people said, his hotels are the best in the world, etc.

And not because he colluded, because he is about to get caught in 1,000 lies.

It’s difficult to imagine how Coats could say, “I felt no pressure,” with a straight face. If there was true justice in the world, he would have turned into a pillar of salt or burst into flames (I may be confusing biblical stories.)

Even if trump had no connection to Russia’s actions it will show that a leader of a state figures Trump is so Stupid, dangerous and destabilizing that he is the worst thing an enemy can do to us.

Direct attacks like 9/11 brought us together, getting trump “elected” creates division that incapacitates the country and keeps us too busy to address world issues. This is like what Iran did during 2006 timeframe in Iraq. They stirred the pot such we couldn’t react to any other pressing world need.

Actually i think Coats lost his marbles some time ago. This is why he was brought in, as he is manipulable.

Coats and Rogers disgust me. They covered for Trump in the televised hearing. They thought nothing of impeding the investigation at that time. They have no honor and I doubt they will come out of this administration with a shred of dignity or respect.

It’s not just the little hands. He also has very small feet. Check 'em out on the next full-length photo. Really small.

And you know what they say…

Putting his name on countless phallic objects like tall buildings and airplane fuselages seems to underscore your point…

On a related note he owns many pools so he can say “I was in the pool” in case someone has the unfortunate timing to catch a glimps…

(Shudders )

Perhaps it’s bundled together. The underlying obsession is with being “exposed” for the fraud he is. Exposed for not being as wealthy as he claims, exposed for being kowtowed by Putin’s cabal because he needed their money, exposed for being an unwitting Putin asset before he realized all of the strings attached, exposed for having so very few people who are actually loyal to him, especially in the tough time ahead, exposed for truly not understanding how to do the job he wanted to win but never wanted to work, exposed for suffering from the same dementia that took down dear old dad.

He has certainly begun the process of building a conspiracy theory to excuse his imminent demise. It’s the Deep State, it’s Obama, it’s the Clintons, it’s the media, it’s Mueller’s long association with Comey and that team’s Dem-leaning members, it’s every single fucking thing/person/situation he can spin as being out to get him.

He’s never taken responsibility for anything and never will.

It is impossible for me to imagine that a senior military officer in a key role would fail to interpret a “request” or “suggestion” from the Commander in Chief as anything less than an outright command.

Just a casual, unguarded comment to a manager from the aide to a 4* Admiral or General regarding something about which the senior officer has an interest can result in a staff office initiating an all-night effort to assemble information by the morning of the following day. While that may seem a bit over-conscientious (or like a$$ kissing) It is understood that senior officers serving in important jobs (like the JCS or the President) are on the job 24/7, and have no “trivial” or “casual” interests that are unrelated to the national interest.
