Discussion for article #226370
Obviously taken out of context.
He obviously meant that the 9-year-old was an Archbishop within the Anglican Communion.
The Reagan administration used an executive order easing immigration standards for 200,000 Nicaraguan exiles fleeing communism in 1987.
Bachmann and King and Cruz legislation -
“Kick them all out” passes the house.
Obama orders executive action on immigration last week of August - similar to Reagan’s 1987 order.
Republicans heads explode with calls to sue and impeach.
Killing the GOP among swing voters.
The McClatchy-Marist College poll shows political moderates oppose the impeachment of Obama 79 percent to 15 percent. Not only that,
if the House GOP did initiate impeachment proceedings, moderates say it would turn them off so much that they would be pulled toward the Democrats.
By 49-27, moderates say impeachment would make them more likely to vote Democratic than Republican in 2014.
Americans say 58 percent to 34 percent that the GOP should not sue Obama, and moderates agree 67-22.
Moderates also say by a 50-25 margin that the lawsuit makes them more likely to back Democrats in 2014.
Just in time for the 2014 Midterms.
Perfect.
“I’M NOT A RACIST but WATCH ME LYNCH THIS NIGRA!”
In a scientific sense, we are all primates. Somehow, I doubt that’s the context that the writer had in mind.
Aw ya beat me to it. The term is also used, with typical lack of irony, by racist right wing nut jobs as some sort of codeword.
Even if this was 100% true and he didn’t mean it in a racist way, the rest of the article was offensive and racist enough on it’s own.
Am reminded of a line from “The Untouchables”:
“You got him?”
“I got him.”
“Take him.”
I give him 24 hours.
"Hey, hey craaaaaacka! Cracka!White devil! F*** you, white devil!”
Seriously, when was this supposed to have happened? 1970? Because I can’t imagine a Black kid today calling someone a “cracker”, let alone a “White devil”.
Sure, let’s see Kevin D Williamson deploy that “Everyone is a primate” defense.
Then stand Louis C.K. behind him saying, “People from Phoenix are Phoenicians.”
Haven’t read the rest of the article, but he didn’t really call the kid a primate. He called the gesture “a universal gesture of primate territorial challenge”. I’m not primatologist (but know many), but I don’t think there any even nearly universal primate gestures. Reminds me of the pair of pictures shown in many primatology classes comparing a face made by Nixon and by a gorilla. I’m not denying he’s being racist, but that wasn’t explicitly racist.
Inadequate white man angry at the world for his terrible case of micro penis and womanhood’s general rejection of him. Sad.
Wow a science based racist.
“Williamson defended his piece, arguing that humans are “primates” so the reference wasn’t offensive.”
I can’t blame the guy for saying this. He has his own appearance as a reference point.
Gee, where have I heard the number 3/5 used before when talking about a black person…it’s familiar for some reason…
…and then there is this:
I assume she’s his mom — is looking at me with an expression that is a complex blend of embarrassment, pity, and amusement, as though to say: “Kids say the darnedest things, do they not, white devil?”
Just a hunch, but I think he made up the rest, much like he fabricated what the “mom” was thinking.
Though this article is generally correct, it has an error. Quinn’s hometown is very far from East St. Louis.
Hey, hey craaaaaacka! Cracka!White devil! F*** you, white devil!
Not saying it can’t happen, but I don’t know any Moms, white, black or brown, who let their 9 year olds yell this kind of stuff. I’m not sure the event even happened except in Williamson’s fantasies.
