Discussion for article #233049
“I’m not qualified to make that judgment,” says Sen. John McCain of AZ. So, only after taking numerous smackdowns on this very subject is Mr. McCain willingly–albeit grudgingly–to admit the truth. That said, I am more than a little disappointed in Sen. Susan Collins’s response. Here is a great opportunity for her to state for the record her (supposed) support for equality, only to walk away. Rather cowardly, in my opinion; however, I am not a resident of Maine so she wouldn’t care what I think of her opinions on fairness and equality for her fellow Americans.
C’mon, Teaparty loonies!!! It’s time for you to take umbrage at this obvious slight to 'Murka its one true god and primary ALL these mofos!
I mean, I just bought stock in Orville Redenbacher!
It’s very puzzling as to why Collins walked away from the reporter. Maybe she figures, “hey, I announced I was in favor of gay marriage last year, why you asking me for my position now?”
Oh really?
Just wait till the court votes 6-3 to uphold same sex marriage. You’ll see the Republican Id released in full fury against them GAWDLESS judges!
Yankee Clipper, thank you for the reminder that she actually did do this – I thought she had but questioned my own memory (getting old and still don’t think of googling things like this right off the bat). I’ve always thought of Sen. Collins as one of the more sane Republicans in Congress, a rarity indeed.
Ah, no. Brownback just made it perfectly clear what the GOP position is on gays…and minorities and women. It doesn’t matter what the SCourt says to Republicans because they don’t intend to respect any of its decisions that they don’t agree on.
National GOPers, real profiles of courage!
More like: “Profiles in fauxtrage”
This is utter crap…now Sahil isn’t just printing made up conjecture, he is writing propaganda for the GOP. “National GOP”?? So you can totally ignore Roy Moore illegally ignoring Federal Court rulings in Alabama?
Sorry Sahil, your party owns him as well. And it takes some serious gumption to publish a piece like this while a GOP judge is currently openly flaunting the Constitution.
Nothing has changed in their position. They just know it is a loser.
America’s New Congress.
That is so 1984.
Because the battle is lost because they lost it but they’d really prefer that everyone forgets that one too.
The Boener/McConnell house has given up much whilst doing little and its starting to seem like the plan. They let shit happen after wasting a few years attempting to wreck the nation over them, then play dumb, make up phony shit and project like crazy fuckers to get re-elected, then declare that they will fight to undo all the shit that they just let happen because, don’t ever give in-stick to your principles and when you lose because of this it is actually for a total lack of this so do it again harder. Re-effingpeat.
This is either the most incredible plan ever known to mankind or the most incredibly lucky thing that anyone in the history of mankind has ever stumbled upon. I’m going with the latter because these hateful, racist, ass–backward bigoted, civil war lovin’ but losin’, rat bastard fucks don’t have the collective brain power to dry hump a dead skunk, let alone think beyond tonight’s happy hour special.
Conservatives will say and try the most ridiculous goddamned things that can be imagined, then mindfuck those ideas to death with some really impressive mind bending logic. They are crazier than an apeshit ape but for a group of nutbags and dillweeds, they do pull it off as best or better than even the most optimistic cads ever have.
Republicans are slime to the enth.
