Discussion: National Enquirer Shared Stories About Trump With Cohen Before Printing

Just another one of Michael’s “many businesses” that Trump had nothing to do with.

The next thing you’ll be telling me is that Fox News treats Donald Trump and the Republicans more favorably tha Democrats

Wait, are you trying to tell me that the National Enquirer isn’t a paragon of journalistic integrity?

They were coordinating for publicity during a campaign, which means it had monetary value given this is a media company. So honest question, does that not qualify as a campaign contribution by the National Inquirer? If so, was it reported, and legal?

It’s a coordinated political expenditure. At the very least valued at the printing cost, at the most, at some multiple of what it would cost to buy that space as ads. And, as a corporate contribution, per se unlawful.

Lock them up.

This seems appropriate to repost here: https://twitter.com/joshtpm/status/985200901815140352?lang=en
on edit: (video of Cohen - on the day of his first court hearing - set to the Sopranos)

American Media Inc’s Pecker is so busted. The man who cleaned up Schwarznegger’s porn, in addition to Cosby allegations and Trump’s fetid laundry before the elections may have gone too far with the latter. Lest we forget, AMI also just recently put out a fluff special glossy magazine on shelves throughout the heartland for Trump’s latest influencers, the Saudis. Things may not end well for them this time.

But, but…The “Men in Black” told us they were the “finest investigative journalism on the planet.”

Now you are telling me that MOVIES are NOT REAL?

Wow. I may have to become a Democrat now…/s

It was Weekly World News or whatever and their Batboy showing up to frighten that pesky alien!

Ya that too!

The custom of sharing stories with Cohen pre-publication could fold into the federal probe of Cohen and a slew of his potential financial wrongdoings, including the possible violation of campaign finance laws.

Sorry to counter the take, but I’m not sure I can support going after a media company for publishing their viewpoint, even if it included word from inside the campaign. That strikes me as a little too close to violating the First Amendment through retaliation.

Cohen giving money to Daniels to cover up the story? Yeah, that’s an illegal campaign contribution. But I find it hard to believe that it’s the only case where people in the media sat on stories.
