Well, if the national Enquirer has a statement we should definitely take them at their word, right?

Absolutely no connection ever between the National Enquirer and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

I’ll believe them as soon as they open up all of their files.

$15, on a grocery store magazine counter. Love to get a number on the actual, over the counter sales as opposed to the bulk sales, now in boxes on pallets in SA.

I am missing the allusion/reference.

Sorry, my obscure prose strikes again!

Here’s a version of the story:

Legend has it that during one of Lyndon Johnson’s congressional campaigns he decided to spread a rumor that his opponent was a pig-fucker. LBJ’s campaign manager said, “Lyndon, you know he doesn’t do that!” Johnson replied, “I know. I just want to make him deny it.”

Now that you share it, I do recall that story. Thanks.

Michael Sanchez is also claiming that it was AMI that first approached him – that they knew about the affair already, and wanted his help.

And that AMI already had seen some of Bezos texts.

Then, in July 2018, Dylan Howard, vice president and chief content officer at American Media Inc. (the parent company of the National Enquirer) and a longtime acquaintance of Michael’s, called him to say the tabloid was looking into his sister’s affair, Michael said. The magazine had seen text exchanges between the secret couple, he said.

But note the date. Sanchez’ story is that this initial AMI call took place in July 2018, whereas DeBecker is saying that the Saudi’s went after Bezos beginning in Oct 2018.

Some Americans will be surprised to learn that the Saudi government has been intent on harming Jeff Bezos since last October, when the Post began its relentless coverage of Khashoggi’s murder

So where did the texts that AMI had seen in July come from?

Another point – while Trump has been critical of the Post for ages, he only went after Bezos personally (“Jeff Bozos”) after the Saudi’s decided to target him. Inappropriate foreign influence, perhaps

Oh, well, there it is. How can you argue with a publication having a reputation as sterling as The National Enquirer?
