The venality and stupidity of the DCCC consultant class and their āleadersā is truly a wonder to behold.
There are 3 candidates better than Moser in that race. Thatās the reality.
āBetterā how? More āmoderateā? More ācorporateā? Let the voters sort it out!
And this is exactly why Democrats canāt have nice things.
Or, you know, you could be both.
Just called the DCCC to complain and the guy who answered the phone listened to me and then said, āHold on, let me put you through to someone who can help youā and then he dumped me into a no name voicemail. Wow, just wow. I guess the Dems hate their constituents as much as the Repubs do. Well, I wonāt be surprised when the Dem turnout in November is just as low as it always is.
Jason Westin, Lizzy Pannill Fletcher and Alex Tryantaphyllis have stronger connections to TX, the district, and are communicating an issue based, center-left agenda that has been successful in 2017-18. Iāve listened to interviews and read up on all 3. Theyāre all objectively better suited for this R+7 district than is Moser, who is a recent transplant and is viewed in that district as far left. That the DCCC would want to have their best 3 candidates get the shot to face off against John Culberson is not unusual.
How about --let the voters sort it out? May the best person win.
The best person is the one who gets the votes and turns people on ā¦
They still get to sort it out. But Moser is crowding out the best candidates because she has a lot of out of state/district money. So the DCCC weighed in. Thatās politics.
This is just great. Punch left, get knocked out in the center of the political ring. Hit your team first. Do they realize that if she did lose she might have been loyal and helped the blue team win? Now, itās all downside. Pathetic
DCCC says, āCāmon Laura, be more re(publican)asonable.ā
Donāt get too cute by half DCCCā¦weāre WATCHING you and donāt āthinkā that we will follow you blindly. Did you SEE what happened in the last election??? Pay attention.
Schumer is trying to do the same thing in the TX-29 race. He endorsed a Democratic fundraiser over a super qualified Latina - State Senator Sylvia Garcia.
All Schumer did was piss off the local Democratic establishment and the Hispanic base⦠just one more reason he should not be the minority or majority leader in the Senate.
The committee highlights that she just moved back to the Houston-area district from Washington, D.C., recently claimed a homestead tax credit for her D.C. home, her campaign has paid her husbandās consulting firm to work on her race, and in a 2014 Washingtonian article wrote that sheād ārather have my teeth pulled out without anesthesiaā than live in rural Texas.
Sorry, for me, this a big red flag. Moser sounds like she might be able to carry an area like Austin but in an area that Clinton was barely able to hold on to, sheās just not going to make it. Yes, I agree that the voters need to sort it out. Having said that, if the āD tripā is giving their money to a candidate, donāt they have the right to say who they believe is best suited for the area?
This is precisely why I never give money to the DCCC and DSCC, I only give money directly to the candidate I support.
So what, let the voters decide.
āBetterā = more money to spend on the swamp consultant class.
True⦠but⦠and I think this is important⦠unless you believe the candidate is utterly unsuited to the office, like say, Roy Moore, or that ass-hat that ran for president in 2016, in the Republican Primary, was it Drumph?, whatever his name was; unless a candidate is that bad, it never makes sense to publish information attacking them. Inofrmation like that will come back to haunt you if your preferred candidate loses in the primary. SUpport is one thing. Attacking each other is, in my opinion, an entirely different matter. And itās a stupid, unforced error.
Yeah, because that worked so well with Jill Stein and Ralph Nader, right? Thereās no BernieBros still insisting he wouldāve won that race because people mistrusting government would be totally down for a self-described socialist, and the Republicans wouldnāt have been hammering on his wifeās legal issues, right?
This is a thorny issue in both directions. I can totally see the motivations behind āhey, let the voters decideā, but in the end⦠the voters are still deciding. This move just gives them more information to work withāand itās information her opponent in the general would have had, make no mistake. The voters will decide. Nobody is going to pull the lever for them. As long as the informationās true, thereās really no harm getting it out there now. Worst case, it becomes old news after she wins the primary.
Iām just glad that weāve finally gotten to the āDemocrats in Disarrayā phase of TPMās election coverage.
