I respect law and order and some police officers but I’m also that middle aged white working class guy who’s safe at the barbecues, bars and poker games to speak in front of in the NYC suburbs.
So I hear it all and yes the N-word is still in vogue and yes, “these animals” is a regular start of a sentence.
The psychological and sociological effects of "stop and frisk’ or “TNT” initiatives on a target community is somewhat beyond their understanding but "teachin’ ‘em a lesson’ does come up quite frequently.
These thin-skinned whiny titty babies just reinforce the notion that ANY criticism directed towards them is not allowed. First Amendment? Well now, that’s only for white people you see. Don’t you know that as a black person, your only rights are to say “Yessa, nossa, and massa”?
If they’re getting this mad about a music video, these morons would stroke out if they knew all the money and goods Beyonce and Jay-Z have donated to Black Lives Matters, protesters in Ferguson and Baltimore, and Flint.
I think that, in this case, this is police forces not making their personnel available for moonlighting as security (which tons of cops do everywhere).
Overall, I’m entirely in favor of police forces not moonlighting.
And I’m entirely in favor of Beyonce taking Nation of Islam up on their kind offer. I suspect they’d behave a helluva lot more professionally.
Go police unions! I am sure the cops who do this work on the side don’t need the money. Well done, I will have the fainting couch set up soon for you, as soon as you are finished clutching your pearls.
Police officers, especially New York Police Officers, continue to prove to be tone deaf. This type of statement and protest on the part of police has only one effect: it tells communities of color that their lives don’t matter. It is exactly the wrong thing for them to publicly say. How stupid are these people? What possible benefit comes from this?
When Farrakhan makes you look foolish (and I’m looking at you, Giuliani), you are truly being a fool.
NObody would be talking about this if not for Giuliani’s over-the-top interpretation and noisemaking, combined with the unbelievable fragility of the feelings of the police (as expressed by the union spokespeople – I have trouble believing that there is anything like a majority of the police who are so childish about criticism and taking responsibility).
HOLY CRAP!!! Black men with guns! In public no less!! Call out the National Guard, have the NSA tap every black person’s phone, and authorize martial law!!
Wait, I have a better idea, lets call Open Carry Texas. They’ll protect us from any bad [black] guys with a gun, since they’re good [crazy white] guys with guns. I’m not even going to mention the unmentionable angle of Islam being involved.
Funny thing, there, Rudy: when an woman of color “attacks” police, no one gets killed. When the police literally attack an unarmed black kid, the outcome is all too frequently different. And far too few are held accountable for their heinous crimes.
