Discussion for article #225663

Why does the word “prick” come to mind anytime I read any of Pielke’s quotes.

This article is a canapé. The real meal will come when Nate Silver sees an ex-employee use the phrase “editorial backbone.”

I have rarely seen the head of a company and revered Think Piece writer get down in the weeds so readily over so little.

I’m sure the Heritage Foundation will welcome him with open arms. Either that, or AEI. Ah, the wingnut social safety net for otherwise unemployables. Isn’t America great!

After reviewing TPM’s questions about his time with FiveThirtyEight, Pielke opted to take a pass.

If you can’t take the heat, show TPM the hand?

Always room at FAUX, Redstate, etc. for assholes like this.

I am encouraged by this development. Hiring Pielke is the single stupidest thing Nate Silver has ever done (other than that one thing in college).

Eli Rabbett’s posts on Pielke are particularly trenchant. A sampler:

Maybe it will all change during the 2016 Presidential elections, but Nate seems to have fallen off the radar since he left the NYT, except for stories like this which aren’t too positive.

If anyone had been in doubt about Pielke, this would nail it.

A sports & climate change specialist? Color me unimpressed.

@RBinNC “Putz” sums it up.

Here’s the gig:

“Hey, anyone want to hear my opinions about all kinds of shit?”

Here’s the grift:
“Hey, if you want to hear my opinions about shit it’s gonna cost you!”
