Discussion for article #225465

I wanna get Amy Jaudon and that Scruggs lady from Wal Mart in a room and tell each the other said she was fat.

The God-Fearing citizens of Rock Ridge seem to be a bit off their rockers.

Wow. Who says shopping for groceries on Tuesday nights are boring in Tennessee?

And minor editorial quibble: in Tennessee, it’s not “at a Kroger.” You say “at the Kroger.”

Why does Kroger hate the constitution? I guess I won’t be shopping there anymore. Used to be the safest store in town, but now it will be the most dangerous.

You should see what her reaction was when the Sheriff busted her.

When Blazing Saddles came out, I thought it merely an excellent parody. Now I stand amazed at how prescient Mel Brooks was.

My favorite local saying is from New Orleans. You don’t “go to the store,” you go “make your groceries.”

OK, not a lawyer but it’s probably never a good idea from a legal standpoint to go and get your gun during an argument.

Particularly with what is basically a bank clerk. That does not end well.

You’re making the case for Open Carry there Matt. You should always pack heat just in case you do find yourself in an argument,

The life you save might just be your own!

And so it begins…the 2nd Amendment solution.

When the Third Amendment reads about events like this, it feels sad and lonely.

Hey, you can carry open or concealed with society’s blessing, it seems, in most places except where legislators hang out for some reason. My strictly layperson’s advice is just not to slap people, make death threats, brandish a deadly weapon, make death threats again, or go and get the gun in the process. Tends to weaken your argument that it’s self-defense.

In other news, Beej/EG/Libs/drail/etc. is really missing a good day here. Heeeeyyyy, Beej! What up?

Yeah, not good. I think it’s called intent.

I guess she thought it was better to be known as "crazy " rather than, “that chick who got her ass kicked by a Western Union clerk.”

It’s been tried in Florida as part of a Stand Your Ground defense. In one at least one case, the court accepted the defense (guy at a party got in an argument and went to his car to get his gun and returned, promptly shooting the guy he got in the fight with).

Which goes to one of the many problems with that law. In many people’s minds, the threshold for self defense is getting beaten, such as this situation. The woman slapped the employee, and then got thrown to the ground. In her mind, slapping the employee has nothing to do with anything…the fact she got body slammed is all that matters.

“Kroger spokeswoman Melissa Eads told WKRN that the store would be reviewing the incident.”

“Incident”? Christ, this reads like Natural Born Killers. An incident is “spillage in isle 13.”

Is this like the off duty cop’s gun that “accidentally” went of in the racetrack bathroom the other day? Has the NRA discovered Orwell?

White people…they can’t help it. It’s their upbringing and culture.
