Discussion: Nadler Slams 'Lawless Administration' After Barr Contempt Vote: Trump's Not A 'King'

It’s the first administration you’ve ever seen where they say we’ll deny all subpoenas from Congress.

First one in American history, actually.

If Roberts turns a blind eye, we’re done – never mind his reputation.

Not a King? Well not yet … have yet to conduct the coronation … but it will be huge… with a military parade … biggest ever… and all will bow before him.

We cannot have a situation where the president becomes a king or a dictator. I mean, the American people understand that nobody, not the president, nobody may be above the law.

We’re well on the road to having a king/dictator, every day we get closer. And, apparently a lot of people think this is just fine including all the Rethugs in congress.

They embrace the idea of a dictatorship because they now fundamentally reject democracy - they reject the idea of being governed by the majority - - - and they reject it because they have no respect for anyone not like them.

Trump’s Not A 'King’

But if he’s losing he’ll eat the entire chess-board.

Caution is advised.

Has anyone told Trump this?

Is it too much to wish he’d choke on it?

Not if you’re Catholic and confess your sins regularly.

I’m a non-believer. I only have to live with myself. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s either the worst punishment or … not!

Defend Constitution, fine. But didn’t this administration also show that Constitution alone is not enough?

And if Nancy turns a blind eye, we’re done – never mind her reputation.

Your move, Nancy.

Have they scheduled the Contempt vote in the full House yet?

Fuck this shit. Arrest every single one of the motherfuckers right now and drop them in a dungeon at the bottom of the Marianas Trench. From Trump and McConnell all the way down to his drooling, screaming hordes.

National Security. They are obviously a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States.

Problem solved.

Yes, she does have to take action.

What did you make of Steny Hoyer’s (apparent) change of heart?

It will be. There are too many people against Trump. The immediate problem is that not enough of those against Trump have awakened yet.

My metaphor is this one (The film “Firefox”)

Clint Eastwood’s American character to a Russian dissident helping him:

“Don’t you folks ever get tired of fighting City Hall?”

Russian:

“Fighting City Hall is a luxury we do not enjoy, Mr Gantt.”

Until the sleepyheads among us wake up and place the political situation we face with an equal amount of concern as a new i-phone, we will be at a severe disadvantage. I actually believe that the exposure to the public of Trump’s criminality will VASTLY change these aforementioned sleepyheads (I know, because I went from zero to hero in political acumen when I saw the Watergate Hearings in 1973-74).

***And that is why Trump is doing everything in his power to BLOCK one SYLLABLE coming out about him to the public.***.

We have been drifting this way for a long time, at least since WWII. Trump is just taking advantage of a bunch of Republican senators who support their party over the needs of the senate. I am a little too old for a constitutional crisis, but this one is long in the making.
