Regardless of where you stand on this issue, it’s nice to see serious people having serious discussions on a serious matter.
I’ll take this over the argle bargle of Republicans any day.
“Pelosi was joined in her disapproval by Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who doesn’t want to lose his current important position in probing Trump’s actions.”
Is it just a speculation? I found no proof of that. Kinda irresponsible for a news piece.
Just pick a strategy and run with it. I can’t take any more “Dems in disarray” stories, especially when they appear to be mostly true.
Nadler #1 wants to centralize the investigations, and #2 wants to make obtaining information easier through the process of an impeachment inquiry.
Pelosi and Schiff want to maintain their “important position in probing Trump’s actions” by continuing the status quo.
I understand what Nadler wants. I do not understand this “important position” that Pelosi is referring to. That is a real problem for people who support and follow her leadership in the House. Communication should not be that hard. Unfortunately for the entire Party (and country), the lack of effective communication is causing yuge problems for everyone but Republicans.
They should create a House Select Committee on Impeachment.
I’m only speculating, but I don’t think Pelosi thinks the Obstruction charges are enough to sway public opinion. She and Schiff probably think that they have strong espionage-type charges or criminal money laundering that would sink Trump and end the protection he gets from the Senate R’s.
They could just have easily speculated that Nadler doesn’t want to lose his current important position in probing Trump’s actions. Others are supporting the idea of an impeachment select committee. Who would say that either of them would be in charge of it? Pelosi.
I hope it doesn’t turn into a tug of war. Schiff currently should have access to things that Nadler doesn’t because he’s on the intelligence committee. I’m not sure if Schiff is getting want he wants from the intelligence community, but he should get it.
Pelosi was joined in her disapproval by Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who doesn’t want to lose his current important position in probing Trump’s actions.
Yes, the daily revelations of Trump Admin misdeeds emanating from Schiff's committee work is like drinking from a firehose. I barely keep up with the breakneck progress being reported.............
Exactly. If it’s about who gets to have more publicity, just form a select committee. Why does the media think the Congress can’t think of that solution? I’d say this is another "Dems in disarray“ hitjob, and of poor quality. There might be different opinions but definitely not about the “position”.
Nixon would have finished his second term had he the benefit of confronting Pelosi/Nadler/Schiff as his chief detractors.
I agree, but doesn’t somebody still have to be “in charge” of a select committee?
So we aren’t starting an impeachment inquiry because no one wants to give up the spotlight? Seriously?
There you go! Now that wasn’t so hard, was it?
Now if only Nadler can convince Pelosi and the “leftist” bloggers that keep denigrating impeachment. Hmmm… (shhh, he may hear us inside of his cone of silence and CW)
Me neither
The important position is that the Democratic norms and constitution have been violated and their oath of office binds them to action preserving that constitution. If we allow the likes of Bill Barr and Trump’s cadre of criminals to subvert the rule of law we may loose it for future generations.
Speaking of disarray
Jobs report in
Only 75,000
Fake news of course, let’s see how they spin this
I never bought into the Mueller hype and his report was indeed very weak ale. What is there is slowly being allowed to wither on the vine. I generally like Pelosi and of course Josh, but impeachment proceedings are the only way to amplify Muellers document. They could make it very clear upon opening such proceedings that they fully understand that the Senate is unlikely to agree to impeachment. But that would not be the definition of a successful inquiry.
"Democrats blocking funding for the wall have forced Trump to resort to emergency powers to keep America Safe.
Naturally, businesses are leery of expanding employee rolls when there’s uncertainty given the situation at the Border.
If Democrats would finally fund the Wall, we’d be near full employment."
Spins. Jobs Report? What Jobs report?
