Officials confirm the son of North Carolina State Representative Michael Speciale Sr. is arrested and charged with 2nd degree sex offense.
Pitt County detectives arrested 38-year-old Michael Speciale, Jr. Sunday afternoon in Greenville.
Speciale, Jr. is in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.
The offenses took place over several years with more than one victim, said Pitt County Deputies.
Speciale Sr. represents Beaufort, Pamlico and Craven Counties in the North Carolina General Assembly.

As you’re probably already aware, the North Carolina House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a bill this afternoon championed by the Governor’s wife, Ann McCrory, to enact some modest new regulations of so-called “puppy mills.” It was a bipartisan bill that passed 101-14.
Notwithstanding the First Lady’s support and presence in the chamber, however, at least a couple of members felt compelled to reveal their darker sides when it comes to the treatment of animals.
